Awesome pen. This is my second one only because the first got ran over by a forktruck. It was still working just not comfortable to hold. LoL. It is easy to clean as well

SO much hope in this pen. Just stick to the F-701

I was SOO excited when the X-701 was announced since I love the F-701 so much. I thought I would be buying a ""tactical,"" rugged, ""military-grade"" version of the F-701. The X-701 really failed the mark on that. It's a plastic pen and the black coating flakes off. There is NOTHING rough and rugged about it. I would have just been happy with a black version of the F-701. At least I know that the F series is up to the task.

Zebra makes some nice pens. This is not one of them. If you want a durable pen that will write anywhere, purchase the F-701 and use Fisher pressurized cartridges or use Parker cartridges to have a nice writing gel pen. The X-701 is a waste of money. The tip is brass. If you knock it around or drop it the brass deforms. You will need to reshape the too you get the pen tip to pass and be functional again. The grip is a this plastic. The barrel is the only metal. The cap and clicker are all plastic. The pen also does not take normal Zerbra refills. You must purchase the refills for the X-701. Spend your money on another pen. This pen is a poorly executed good idea.

X-701 leaks ink

I really like the grip of the pen, but the ink cartridge oozes ink whenever it is not in use! Sometimes while laying on my desk I will return to find a glob of ink. I can't imagine ever purchasing another Zebra pen.

Nice light metallic feel. The pressurized ink refills are not very impressive or nice to write with. Very thin, and not smooth. I don't need the extreme writing ability enough to warrant the mediocre writing experience.
