Bought this in April, Now December and replacing broken handle. Ergonomics are poorly designed. I am a 6'2 and everything is way low, Top shelf has a control panel running down the middle not allowing for tall bottles to placed there. you loose 4 inches of functional prime real-estate on the top shelf. There was not a floor modle to look at, but still i do not thik I would have noticed all these flaws till actually using it. I wanted something a little bigger then my 20 year old fridge, and I missit. Smaller but a whole lot more funtional and handles were mage of metal and did not break in 6 months. If I could buy another fridge I would.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Appaling low quality

Bought this refrigerator to replace a 20 year old Whirlpool of the same size and configuration. Unfortunately we did not look at the fridge in the store, they did not have a floor model. But all our appliances over the years have been Whirlpool, we've liked them and always thought they had an edge on quality. Well, that has surely changed in a big way since we equipped our kitchen with Whirlpool appliances 20 years ago.
When we opened this refrigerator to move the contents from the old one, we were appalled with the quality inside: all flimsy and cheapest materials, very thin shelves, exceptionally thin trim on the shelves, no trim on any of the door shelves. The shelves bow with any little weigh. Fruit drawers don't glide evenly. The freezer door storage rack has such a narrow bottom that it's useless for storage, everything falls through the huge gap. Freezer door was not level with fridge door, with a difference of a full 1/4"on the right side. Although following the printed instructions, we have not been able to fully make it level, still crooked. The old fridge had developed a couple of problems due to age but the quality and features had nothing to do with this one. We thought this refrigerator was expensive in comparison to others from other brands that we looked at and liked. Wanting to stick with Whirlpool led us to a really bad purchase but the problem is that we are stuck with this for the foreseeable future.

Nice, but the door handle breaks

We've had this refrigerator for seven years, now. Overall, I'm happy with its performance - it's quiet and has been reliable. The ONE thing that irks me though, is the use of plastic in the door handle. Both the original door handle AND a replacement handle have broken. (Not the handle itself, but the horizontal piece that attaches the top of the handle to the door.) Frankly, we are simply not hard on things and I believe this to be a design error. We have a second smaller Whirlpool refrigerator in our game room that, despite being a cheaper model, has held up beautifully.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stopped functioning within days of arrival.After 2 service calls told not reparable and needed a new refrigerator. After numerous calls and much frustration we finally got a store credit (less than what we paid) and purchased a totally different French door whirlpool refrigerator that we are thrilled to finally have received. It was a nightmare to say the least.
