WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator in April and it's been a nightmare ever since! Both the frig & freezer doors were not made properly so they do not form a suction when closed, which allows warm air inside and it constantly runs trying to cool everything. The freezer leaked into the frig making pools of water on the trays! I was told that 6 other people who had purchased this where I did, had the same exact problems with this model. The repair tech said it was so bad, he thought for sure they discontinued the model ! If you wanna waste money, then buy this fridge!

Like an "old time" refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this refrigerator as a replacement for a 5 year old Kenmore bottom freezer frig that had an LG compressor with a component (the compressor valve) that was known to fail. This Whirlpool was basically all we could find that would work for us. We don't like the top freezer as we often are on our hands and knees to find something on the bottom two shelves (getting old is not fun), but it is what it is. Functionally, it is a bit noisy, about like our old 1995 version frig. It also has a primitive control system that uses a simple dial to "kind of" adjust the temperature in the freezer, which then, somehow adjusts the frig temp. The cold air from the freezer enters the frig behind the bottom shelf, so anything on that shelf near the back freezes. We've seen better systems in refrigerators built in the 1940's, honestly. All this said, it was available and is better than living out of coolers on the back deck, so we can't complain too much. Also, it bothers me that Whirlpool is constantly trying to sell us an extended warranty, for 3 years. If this sucker doesn't last 3 years we are going to be very disappointed. Our first frig (a GE) lasted 17 years. The Kenmore lasted 5 years. Now Whirlpool is basically telling us this one may not last more than a year. See a pattern? Whirlpool used to be the "gold standard" for refrigerators. Now we aren't too sure.

Owned 4 three weeks, technician out every week

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this refrigerator on 10/08/19 and have had a technician out every week. First week the freezer wasn't freezing (ice cream is soft, items put in the door compartments not freezing i.e. bread). They changed out the temperature control module. Second week the refrigerator area was now freezing stuff. They changed out the temperature control module again. Third week... Ice cream is soft is still soft and refrigerator is freezing items again... they are coming back with a new circuit board on Monday. We want a different refrigerator at this point.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had it for a week. So far so good. Don't like the spaces in the freezer door shelves. Too easy for the food to fall out. LED lighting is kind of weird. Takes getting used to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, two of my major complaints are - there is no good spacing with the adjustable shelving & the freezer always has frost on the foods. I literally HATE this refrigerator!

We acquired this fridge for the break room at our company. As far as getting the job done at its most basic straightforward level, things look promising. This is as basic as you can get with a freezer-top fridge. What I can say that stands out from the rest of its ho-hum disposition is the storage volume relative to the size. It is QUITE spacious inside, more than you might expect. That was like, literally the only thing that got my attention. Outside of ALL the quintessence of fridge-ness, it was when I opened the door, looked inside, and saw all the SPACE, THAT is what made me go "... huh!" and bumped its score up from 3 to 3.5 stars.
I mean what else am I gonna ask for? If we wanted more we would've paid more, right?
I'll also give you this: Its design principles are VERY refined. This understated presence in your kitchen strives to be as unobtrusive as possible. It IS big, but doesn't *seem* like it until you open it, and I mean that in a good way. Build quality seems solid. Clean lines, gives you exactly what you expect to see, no surprises; it's almost comforting. This is what comes to mind when somebody hears the word "Fridge."

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it a month ago, thinking that I would like it. Wish I had chosen the freezer on the bottom so that the upper portion was more easily accessible. The plastic compartments on the door pop off easily and thus, the contents spill off to the floor. It's okay for a garage fridge. Would not want it in the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator meets and exceeds my expectations. It has plenty of room, and the clear glass shelves make "browsing" easier. This refrigerator stays consistently cold in both areas, no warm and cold spots. I love the lighting, it is easy on the eyes. Likewise, the freezer is very roomy, and the lighting is great. I am not so happy with the freezer door rails. They are set quite far from the shelves, and there is a substantial space. Packages of food (frozen veges, hotdog packages, frozen pasta bags, etc.) drop right through onto the floor. Still, this is a great refrigerator, and I am pleased with it.
