Good Performer with Many Fine Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator/freeze is the best fit for my small kitchen and has all the features I need, including a light in the freezer, which many models don't have. There is ample room for everything and the shelves are sturdy and well constructed, as are the compartments in the door.On the downside, it is rather noisy, the compartments in the freezer have an open space at the bottom that allows many kinds of packages to fall out, and the handles on the deli and crisper drawers are not easy to see and grasp. It does a superior job of keeping my food chilled, my ice cream firm, and it makes ice cubes quickly. I am very satisfied with the value for the price.

Great Look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This appliance came with the package deal with a townhouse we purchased. We have only been at the townhouse maybe 4 times for a 2 day stay each. The frig has only been used to store cold drinks and sandwiches in. We had a few ice cream bars in the freezer and the seal around the door of the freezer is already leaking and ice is caking up. As much as we like the look of the appliance we are not happy with the performance.

Less than a couple of weeks old but this refrigerator has not disappointed. After 26 years of seeing a white fridge every day I am still surprised when I enter the kitchen and see this stainless front. Space restrictions dictated our choice of models and we got a product that fit. I do not exactly like the gray side that has about three inches exposed to the kitchen but we are learning to live with this fact of life. The ice maker design is an improvement over the last product because it is mounted higher on the back wall and comes with a deeper and narrower ice bin. I did not think that the LED lighting element would make such a drastic change but, today, I would not be happy without this illumination. Still getting used to cleaning the stainless front and growl at the process occasionally but that is the finish we chose and will live with. Overall, less operational noise, better shelf adjustability and greater interior visibility.

Needed Components Not Supplied

First month report : The Whirlpool frig is well designed and constructed and is working fine, but prospective buyers must BEWARE... if buying without the ice-maker, like me, the usual ice-cube trays and a holder for the trays are not supplied, and containers for holding the frozen foods are not contained in the freezer. And the freezer doors are suitable for storage end-to-end of cans of frozen juice only. To make the freezer compartment suitable for actual real-life use, you need to buy trays, holder, and carefully dimensioned plastic bins for both freeze shelves, and you must innovate and build replacements for the silly built-in freezer door compartments. That's alot of creative rework. Otherwise, the product is satisfactory.

Poor design

I've had top-freezer models in the past and have loved them. I bought this one after looking at your website instead of seeing it in person. MISTAKE! The freezer is too long so that I keep hitting my head on it when I put something in/or take something out of the refrigerator. It is very difficult to use. Also, the freezer has no space for ice cubes or ice cube bin (I don't like ice-makers). I'm planning to buy an additional refrigerator and will definitely look at other brands. I will go look at them instead of choosing off of the Internet. I used to be an avid Whirlpool fan, but am wavering. I also had to exchange my new electric range for a GE model. Really disappointed in both the Whirlpool refrig and the stove.
