A Game-Changing First OLED Experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As my first OLED monitor, the 34" Samsung Odyssey QD-OLED G8 (G85SD) has completely exceeded my expectations. The vibrant colors, deep blacks, and incredible contrast make everything from gaming to content consumption feel more immersive than ever. The ultra-wide display enhances productivity and delivers a cinematic experience for movies and TV shows. The 175Hz refresh rate and near-instant response time provide buttery-smooth performance, making fast-paced games look and feel fantastic. I expected an upgrade, but this monitor has set a new standard for me—OLED truly is a game-changer!

Daily monitor for gaming and coding

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned a LG 1440p 34" IPS, then an Alienware 1440p 38" IPS, then a Samsung G8 4K 32" Mini LED VA, and now a this G9 1440p 49" OLED.
The 49" is the same as two 27" monitors side by side. It's a little shorter than my 32" which is taking some getting used to, but the OLED is insane. I'm seeing colors in games and shows I've never seen before!
I'd say the 32" was my favorite size because of how tall the monitor was. A 57" would be like two 32" side by side, but Samsung doesn't have an OLED model of their 57"... yet.
I'd definitely recommend getting one large monitor. Not having a bezel makes everything you do so immersive.
I personally like a more aggressive 1000R curve compared to the 1900R this G9 OLED has. Overall though any OLED is an upgrade. The colors are so insane that I'll never go back to anything else.
With a less aggressive curve you'll need your monitor further back so you aren't turning your neck as much. You'll need a 30"+ deep desk and a good monitor arm to pair with monitors that have a less aggressive curve.
With a more aggressive curve you'll be able to see the sides of the monitor in your peripheral vision better and need to turn your neck less. The 1000R curve mimics the curve of your eyeball better to achieve that. A 800R or 1000R 57" OLED is my next purchase (if they ever become a reality).

Great wide monitor for gaming, working and media

For works it's amazing, very crisp text and wide work area. For watching it looks amazing, even when using the smart TV features if you want to quickly access streaming without booting the pc. For games it looks amazing too, but make sure to have the video card to support it.

The bomb!

The wide screen is new for me, but when I watch movies or anime it feels like I'm in a theater, it's also smart so I don't need anything but my desktop. And when I get my fps on, man I can't stop grinning at the graphics! I was overdue for an upgrade, and this just made my year! This monitor is everything!

Amazing Features

Amazing features, clarity, the ring light is customizable on the back and if you have a Samsung TV you can pair it with it and stream your television through the monitor and split screen and continue working on your PC. I'm sure there's more features I haven't found or tried yet. Overall amazing.

Looks great, dumb functionality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The monitor looks great but the compatibility with a 2 computer setup for pc + wfh is silly. It’s annoying to switch inputs and the removal of the usbc from the previous model was simply a terrible call. The onboard tv features are so unnecessary but doesn’t bother me that much. The Remote Desktop access is terrible. Not sure why they would even include it if its functionality is so limited. Great screen though.

Amazing Monitor

Easy setup and lots of features. Not only can you use it as a gaming monitor, but can stream all your shows on it. I am not disappointed with my purchase!
