I just bought this oven recently. I'm very pleased with the look of it. It was very easy to install. I've just started using it but I am excited to start doing some major cooking.
Bought this to replace old GE oven that dudb't work and separate Advantium that had replaced an old microwave (both black). Love the new stainless steel all in one! Looks great in our kitchen remodel!
We just moved into our newly-constructed home. We chose GE appliances because of their features and reputation for reliability. This wall combination is one of the highlights of our kitchen and has already attracted a number of very positive comments from our friends/neighbors and family. We really like the controls also.
This is the third Advantium we have purchased. First one was just by chance but it soon became apparent it was a magic appliance. When we remodeled there was no question. The original one went to the husband's office and we bought a new stainless steel. We moved in January and the new house had a wall oven. We were delighted that it now was available as a combo. It is an essential appliance; as important as the dishwasher! Amazing features and prepares food to perfection every time.
I like the oven overall but the tone signaling the end of the cycle needs to be louder. I almost NEVER hear it, even when I am standing right next to it. Also, I wish the tray did not rotate when you use the upper oven as a convection oven. A 9X13 pan fits in there but not if it rotates. The lower oven seems to take longer than normal to preheat.
Overall a good combo oven system. Some areas that need improvement in my opinion: 1) Means of adjusting volumes on each buzzer, especially the Timer (and NO a Normal vs Mute is NOT adequate!); 2) More help with examples of using Speed Cooking including explanation of just how the three energy sources work individually and together; 3) The most needed improvement is a backlight for all control choices (what each control actually controls such as where to push for "Clear" on MW and on Oven; and 4) Light in MW that may be turned on like the one for the Oven. Note there are others around dependability (our oven control panel had to be replaced under warranty after only three days of use, but the service was fairly quick, but parts were the holdup).
I bought this just two weeks ago and my handy husband skillfully removed our original 14 year old GE unit, still working very nicely and just as skillfully installed the new unit.First thing he used it for was popcorn. Updated our kitchen three years ago but did not, until now, find the wall oven I wanted.
