This has the wow features but none of the "hard to learn to use" that come with technology. You can feel like a better cook ala-chef with a device you can plug in and put in (and set) the food your baking so you know it's the right temperature you need. The microwave has different specific settings (e.g., reheat, rice, soup, etc.) so you don't have to manually enter the time you'd need.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love my double wall Advantium oven. Upper combo oven=Microwave/Speedcook/Convect Bake is so versatile. It uses a combo of halogen heat lights and microwaves. Easily acts as a small oven for side dishes and could even do a small turkey. We are almost empty nesters and love not having to heat up the full size oven unless truly needed. There is a small learning curve on using all the fantastic settings but totally worth it. Just read the LED screen, and it tells you exactly what to do :) If you are 5’ 4” or shorter have you cabinet company lower the oven wall cabinet cutout by 2”, so can easily clean the inside of upper oven. My GC just went with standard cutout, I have to use a step stool to clean far in the back. Minor detail.
I like having so many cooking options with these ovens - convection, speed cook, microwave, and a regular oven. Manual is informative, oven controls are easy to use, and a cookbook is included. This was a great addition to my new kitchen. I've wanted a double oven for many years, and the Advantium exceeds my expectations.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi Liberty13, thanks for reaching out to us! We're glad to see you're loving your ovens and we want you to know we're wishing you the best.
Purchased PT9800 dual oven with Advantium technology when we moved into our new home. In fact, I upgraded all the appliances at that time. It has just been 5 years, and right before Thanksgiving 2020, it was lights out in the top Controller module and both the ovens stopped working.
Hmm.. I did not expect it to be so short lived but understand that these things happen. Call Service dept and they will put it back together, right..? Or so I thought.
It did not happen like that at all. First, there was a problem in scheduling a service tech to come out to diagnose the issue. Finally, when I was successful with that, one person came on Dec 17, looked at the wall oven unit and said that he can't do it. He said that I should have scheduled two techs to come as one technician can't handle it. How would I suppose to know although I gave the model number at the time of booking the appointment but it's my fault now. So, he left in 5 minutes without doing anything. Highly unprofessional.
Next appointment on Jan 7, two technician showed up early morning and got to the task right away. They first attributed the issue to the fuse. Replaced the fuse and it made a humming sound of life again. So far so good. As soon as the microwave was put through test, fuse blew out again. They then started changing parts after parts (capacitor, diodes) to diagnose the issue and every time it stopped working. Finally, they figured that it was the relay card (part of control card) that has gone bad. I wondered at the quality of electronic parts that GE used in this oven that went bad just in 5 years.
Now, the expectation would be that they replace the card then & there and everything would be same as new. NOPE! It is slightly convoluted than that. The way GE service works is that they first send the tech to diagnose the problem, who then order the parts. And when the parts arrive, you need to call the service tech dept again and schedule a tech to come back and fix it. It easily adds a month of downtime.
But my oven is special. Right now, the parts that my oven needs are not in stock. Not in stock as in these won't be available until mid-March. Obviously GE is making flimsy products that chews through the service parts. Well, until then, I have a very expensive shiny showpiece in my kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love this oven microwave combo. It is really like having a double oven, but also a microwave. You bake perfect cookies in 10 minutes in the microwave. I will say, like others, the actual oven take a while to heat up. But we very rarely even use it, and we like everything else so much, it doesn't bother us.
I really like my new oven. The space is great and flexible. It cooks evenly and is easy to use once you familiarize yourself with the cooking options. The quick help card that comes with the oven/microwave is VERY helpful. I haven’t yet used all of the features but so far I really like the way it cooks. I’ve made a Thanksgiving turkey, a roast leg of lamb, and a roasted duck all for the holidays and they came out perfect.
We love the confection oven/Microwave combination. Definitely changes the game for cooking and reheating. Extremely quiet when operating. Easy to clean.
