Nice appearance

We bought this because we wanted a built-in microwave in combination with a convection oven. The Advantium line intrigued us and we decided to try it. Using the microwave is a bit tedious, having to click and turn knobs several times before it starts. The lower oven is noisy when in the pre-heating convection mode and seems to take an unusually long time to pre-heat. Otherwise, it does a fine job of baking the few things we've tried in it.

Extremely Versatile

We were replacing an older GE wall oven/microwave unit, and decided on the Advantium feature for the microwave based on prior experience with a single Advantium Microwave in another home. It lives up to all the positive comments, and GE was our first choice. It is housed right next to our new GE Profile refrigerator. They're sleek and functional appliances. We couldn't be happier.

Nice but would like 220V Advantium micro option

I use the oven and microwave almost every day. I love the cabinet height level for both.
It was not that hard to figure out all the control functions. Easy once you learn how.
I like using it and it matches my new remodel decor. Just a few improvements would be nice. 1 - This unit needs a 220V 30 amp wire service. It come with a 120V Advantium and there is no 220V option for a combo setup. Why? 2 - I went from a 1963 27" avocado color oven to this. The old one would heat up in 3.5 minutes. This one takes at least 2X time for the oven to get to 350. I think it is because there is a cooling fan for the exterior that runs as soon as you turn on the oven or micro. I am sure this is a safety issue but my old oven without it never burned the house down. It is not fingerprint resistant. The loudness beep option for when you reach temperature is to low. The adjustment is just on or off - not really an adjustment.
This is why no 5 stars. I am a picky person and any unit needs to be perfect for 5 stars. However, it is a nice layout and design overall and I would recommend it. My only advice would be if you really want to take advantage of the speed cooking, you will need to buy these units separate. That will cost you an extra $1000+.

Advantium oven combination

Love the advantium upper oven. It microwaves, convection bakes, toasts, speed cooks and other functions. The lower oven is a little slow on the preheat. It takes half a hour to preheat to 450 degrees.

Off to a bad start!

Just installed and not even used once and it began making a knocking noise behind the control panel as soon as it was it was plugged in. Dealer (and a great one) immediately scheduled a service call. I'll post again once the GE Service comes, but this doesn't instill a lot of confidence in an expensive microwave/oven combination! And this is suppose to be GE's top of the line appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I wish the microwave would let you enter a precise time (say 10 seconds) rather than 15 second increments. sometimes i have things to defrost (for example, butter or a slice of bread) that only need 8-10 seconds, but because 15 seconds is the shortest amount of time allowed, i need to stand there and wait and stop it at the time i desire, rather than let it overheat or melt. Very inconvenient. Plus it takes way too long to preheat the oven. over 10 minutes. I thought that fast pre-heating was one of the benefits of an electric over. :( That said, the other features are not all that useful. i still don't understand the whole "Advantium" thing. I'll probably never use it. kind of a waste of money just to get a wall oven and built in microwave.

Most amazing appliance

We truly love the latest technology in our GE Profile Advantium oven. It does a superb job and we especially appreciate the Speed Cook feature. We were a little concerned about the dial and selecting from the extensive list of items to prepare, however, it was very intuitive and easy to use. Plus it looks gorgeous in our kitchen.

Amazing!

I made brownies the first night using the speed cook and they were the best. No hard edges evenly baked. Also made chicken breasts using the speed cook. The chicken was frozen and the took little time and we very juicy and tender.
