Hi. Thanks for choosing GE Appliances. We appreciate the review and would be happy to help with the oven racks. If extension racks are difficult to extend, we suggest lubricating them with the graphite lubricant provided with your oven. Remove the rack from the oven, remove debris in the slide tracks with a paper towel, shake the graphite lubricant and place 4 small drops on the two bottom tracks of the left and right sides. Then, please open and close the rack several times to distribute the lubricant.
More information on your racks can be seen here, in the Use and Care manual:
I;m still learning about all the features but the manual that accompanies this GE Profile is well written. The controls are intuitive and easy to comprehend and use. I like to use the microwave entering all the controls manually (time, power level, and start). I've had the unit for only 3 weeks and I must admit I come close to choosing wisely. I've not yet tried the convection baking but will do so next week when some out of state family members will be visiting. I like the setting choice for automatic time conversion from conventional to convection baking. Finally, it's enjoyable to investigate each in the long list of features.
The Advantum microwave is so good. It's like it has a brain. Not crazy about the dial, too many steps, but there are alot of functions. Can't see the timer which I am always using.
I love my moves. The pre-set cook settings are great. A feature that I thought would be least used but has been so helping is the temperature probe! I have had excellent results in getting meat roasted to perfection!
Got this oven with our new home build. This is the slowest heating oven I’ve ever had. Both ovens take around 25-30 mins to reach your preheated temperature. The convention mode doesn’t show much difference either. The toast mode is nothing like a real toaster and you’re better off buying a 25 dollar toaster. The controls are also kind of cumbersome and I have a feeling after a few years the spinning select knob is probably going to fail leading to a costly repair.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello - Thanks for taking the time to reach out. We understand the disappointment that was caused by your concerns. The different cooking modes use different preheat methods to heat the oven for the specific cooking mode. Some modes will take longer than others (i.e. convection bake multi). If you feel your oven is having a problem, we recommend scheduling a service appointment for one of our qualified technicians to assess your unit by calling us at: 1-800-432-2737.
We appreciate your insight about the toast mode option and the control knobs. Your valuable feedback will be provided to our product development team. If you have any concerns in the future, feel free to contact us on social media. Kind regards. - Don@GEA
