My previous experience with the backpacks I used on a daily basis have been within the 20L range. The problem I faced with this size was that I was overworking these bags, being that I was constantly stuffing them. They would be loaded with gym, school, weekend training gear; not to mention food, water, and those small EDC items. So I sought to size up. The 3 day assault pack was wonderful, but was a bit overkill and attracted a little more attention than I liked. Lucky for me this 2 day came out. Size accommodates all my training and gym gear perfectly and the shoulder straps are durable enough to handle 25lb loads. For me personally, it falls short in the office bag role. Although it has the laptop sleeve (which is awesome), the available pockets don't really support smaller items. Pens, calculators, notepads etc. If you don't have an organizer of some kind they'll be floating around. In the grand scheme of things this really isn't a big deal for me because I know I'm forcing this bag into many roles. How does this stack with my experiences with 5.11, Direct Action, Maxpedition backpacks? In the everyday role, it falls short. May be a little large for some and not enough organization. As an actually working bag (outdoor, training, gym) it's a great backpack. I would definitely recommend. Not made in the USA which actually made me dislike the backpack in the beginning.
A quick tip: a sustainment pouch fits perfectly in the center of this assault pack. Great for accessing items very quickly ie sweater, food, chargers, medical equipment.

Was on the fence about the ASAP and the 3day assault pack, but then Mystery Ranch introduces this pack and I knew it was perfect for me. I've had the 3day assault pack and I absolutely loved it, but it seems to be just a bit bigger for what I need. It always got hung up in vehicles and the helicopters I work with. This is a touch smaller, leaner in all the right places. I haven't had to sacrifice much in terms of storage. The only major thing I can say is that my laptop doesn't fit in the zipper pouch, but will easily fit inside the main compartment. Now I keep maps and documents inside the "laptop" compartment.
Thing is built like a tank and is the perfect fit for someone looking to cut weight and maintain sustainability.

Very nice pack.. everything appears to be quality and it rides nicely while loaded up. Great price point as well. Might not be big enough to fit a ton for an extended trip but I don’t think it was meant for that. Not disappointed at all.

Great bag but unfortunately inconsistent stitching techniques. Not worth it. Most people wouldn’t care about the construction and seams but there are some of us who do.

I bought this a few weeks ago, use it daily for school. Build quality and materials are great. Adjustment of yoke is easy to do. My only two complaints are the water bottle pouches on the side are kind of loose if you use a metal water bottle and bend down with the pack on it will fall out. And one thing that bothered me and why I gave it 4 stars is that the padding doesn’t cover the entire back of the pack and where the straps meet the bottom of the pack there is small foam pieces inside and this seam is pretty thick. With A light load the straps pull the seam forward and it dig into my back and rubbed quit a bit. I adjusted the yoke so the pack sits a little lower than I like and that helped. Overall it’s a great pack and I am happy with it.

Very well built, sturdy, well designed, and comfortable. A must have for anyone seeking a good daypack to carry around for any situation. I keep it full of my edc items and then day by day also change out the situational gear and the pack adapts well to it.
