Best 2 day backpack ever

I have had this for about a year now. Never had one problem with it. Definitely holds up against any issue when it comes to taking it up to the mountains or my everyday commute. It can hold really anything I put in it and great drink holders on the side. Love the plate they put in the back of the backpack to help it fit better. Definitely my favorite backpack. I'm a life long customer. Thanks mystery ranch for you amazing designs and products. Of course your hard work as well.

The Y shaped zip-opening a stroke of genius, great design (i.e. pockets on top and pockets inside with and without mesh, compression straps, frame and harness), the right size for daily usage, no doubt at all about manufacturing quality one sees it and feels it, easy adjustments and so comfortable one barely notices it while carrying, lots of molle outside (not used but looking so cool).
Buzzing around and having great success when showing off ;-) A great Mystery Ranch backpack.
For next version wishing wider attachment span of lower compression strap, one additional compression strap maybe, and a couple of inside straps to attach stuff.

The final form of the EDC tri-zip

I bought the 2DAP to replace my old Kifaru E&E since I needed a larger bag for work. I work as an RSO and have to move around irregular items all the time (headsets, magazines, spraycans, even pieces of AR500 steel) but didnt want a super large backpack since my workspace is actually somewhat small. The tri-zip design is my first and so far so good, I like being able to access items on the bottom quickly, or leave the "lid" unzipped to have some clearance if I need it. The MOLLE webbing on the outside has allowed me to run a pouch for a thermacell, a small GP for gloves and range flags, and even mounted an Arbor Arms helmet flap so I wouldnt have to shove my opscore or wet boots inside of the bag. Anyone looking for a bag that can do it all and then some, the 2DAP is the way to go. Only qualm is that there isnt a multicam variant yet!!!

More for the money

For the price of the back I feel like I'm paying a lot just for the name. First I wish it was made in USA like the 3 day assault. I could have paid less for the same quality US made pack. Second it does not stand up. This seems trivial but I prefer a pack that can stand. I thought I had it balanced right but when I put my water bottle in it fell and the lid popped off. I thought their were more inside pockets. The velcro patch could be a little bigger. I do like the 3 way zip design. It feels great on my back fully packed and I like the extra access zipper to the lab top comartment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Two Day Assault Pack at a Week Long Event
on August 4, 2019

I purchased the two-day assault pack (TDAP) to use at a weeklong shooting class in Arizona. I was required to carry ammunition, water, and a bunch of other range items that were bulky and heavy. I did not need to pack any sleeping gear or armor. I carried about 20-30 pounds of equipment for the week.
Comfort: The TDAP is very comfortable to wear. The shoulder straps have wrap-around padding that prevents the straps from cutting into the shoulders. Straps are easily adjustable and hold their position. A removable waist strap is included; I removed it. The waist strap could help in distributing weight to the hips easing the forces on the back; it just was not needed by me. Straps can be adjusted to raise the TDAP higher on the back, allowing for the wear of a battle belt. The belt will need to be fitted properly and be worn over the usual belt to be worn simultaneously. The chest strap is easy to use and comfortable. The chest strap is attached to the carry straps with a strange plastic slide adjuster with tabs – not sure why.
Pockets: Pockets are cleverly placed at useful locations. The compartment that was intended for a small computer was used to stow gloves. The interior computer pouch works well for documents or a tablet. Items that were stored in the computer pocket could not be felt when worn due to the plastic plate that is installed. The small top pocket was sufficient for a blowout kit that was easily accessible if an emergency occurred. The exterior side pockets held Nalgene bottles with no issues. The side pockets also constrict keeping items in place; they will not hold a bottle if inverted. The inner side pockets are great for small things like additional slings, suppressors, and ammunition. The inner zippers and mesh pouches are well made; no issues. The main compartment is big enough for rain gear and the majority of the items needed carry. Smart packing maximizes the ease of removing equipment thanks to the ‘lid’ of the pack.
Size: The TDAP has plenty of room for things you may need. Sleep gear can be attached to the exterior using the MOLLE system. The pack is big enough to carry a change of clothes and sleep system if that is all you’re going to need it for. The TDAP is narrow, allowing for ease of movement through brush and doesn’t require much forethought on the width of maneuvering on foot.
Durability: A week of heavy use the TDAP still looks new except for the dust. Soil and vegetation that accumulates onto the pack brushes off. The rain did not enter the main compartment when zipped up. I did not experience heavy rain, but no issues with light rain.
Attachments: The MOLLE systems worked with no issues. Small items that were attached to the exterior stayed in place with no tearing of material even when the pack was thrown around. Two straps are placed horizontally on the pack that could be used to store sleep equipment or other large and light items. The pack rides close to the body, so weight is managed easily. Attaching a heavy item to the exterior will make the pack seem heavier – but that is on the wearer of the pack, not the design. The straps can also be used to compress items inside of the bag.
Color: I ordered the pack in forest, the color matches all other OD green items I have. The color does not look out of place or odd. Zippers are also green with a slight change on color but don’t stick out. Nothing is reflective except for a couple of spots on the chest strap that can be defeated by using tape.
Overall I’m very pleased with the bag. It is a great option for short duration hikes, day hunting, or as a range bag. I can’t think of anything I would change, it is a TDAP, and that’s what you get. The bag is overkill for use as a school bag – it seems too big for that task – but to each their own.

I've had the pack for a month and I have only noticed one thing missing. Hydration/cable ports! With that being said, there are many work arounds. Perfect quality pack.

I’ve been using my 2 Day Assalut Pack daily for the last four months. I’ve used it for transporting everything I need to and from work, hiking, travel, and taking to the field. I’m an Infantry Squad Leader and am not easy on gear but this bag is holding up extremely well. This is the perfect bag for taking on patrol when you don’t need everything in your ruck but want to have what you do need. If you’re a military member and can’t afford the Military/US made bags you can rest assured that this is a very viable option to the 3 day assault bvs. I have buddies that have more rockers than me that have the 3 day bvs and I even prefer the smaller size of the 2 day. This bag makes carrying everything more manageable for trans.
Best feature aside from the robust construction of the yoke and straps is that the MOLLE makes this bag expandable by attaching pouches. The Coyote is perfect for all around use as it’s civilian friendly as a carry-on for air travel or for hiking/taking to the gym, but also good for the field.
The 2 Day Assault Pack has replaced several of my other bags. Based on it and a couple other Mystery Ranch products I own I’m planning to sell off some other gear to save money for a Blackjack 100 to use on an upcoming deployment.
Five stars for an exceptional piece of gear.

I've been a long time MR user but after a serious brain burp, I strayed from MR by using a different brand. What was I thinking? Needless to say, my return to the MR brand couldn't be a better experience with the 2 Day assault. As with so many positive reviews, I remain impressed with the pack layout and fit/finish. The interior pockets are always welcome in my camp. Dual lit pockets make any OCD organizer happy, happy. While not a negative but a recommendation, I'd love to see this pack have an optional, removable waist belt similar to the Coulee. Thanks for having me back.
