Love it.

I am a wildland firefighter and have the hotshot TL and have loved it for over two years. I have gone through several packs. Now upgrading my commuter/day pack I found this. The adjustable yoke similar to the Hotshot is a game changer. My load is the same but the carry is so much different. This pack is perfect for me for a couple day hike or just commuting to work. The top outside pockets are great. The inside pockets a big but kids tough on organizing but that’s me in a away as I carry extra stuff.

Great bag

Bought it before a field rotation, and have loved it. Lots of room, but also not too bulky or overly big. Only issue I see so far is the price. I've usually found mystery ranch to be a little too pricy for me, but they do make great quality products especially for the tough military lifestyle. Will definitely buy from them again

Perfect EDC

Purchased this prior to deployment. Wears so well. Perfect capacity for EDC. Wears well over kit. Durable construction. Only gripe is the carry handle could be better reinforced. Realized this when I clip-suspended it in a bird while fully loaded. Still best “assault pack” I’ve ever owned.

Very well designed pack. I have had the 2 Day Assault for a couple of months and I have been impressed by how well this pack is designed. The build quality is excellent.

perfect camera bag*

I was able to place inside the S/M bag a large camera-bag insert to carry around half a dozen lenses and 2 large cameras with space to spare. I could place the bag on its back, slide open the center zipper to gain access and swap cameras/lenses with relative ease. I fitted a couple shirts on the bottom and on the sides to give the bag extra padding w/o adding too much additional weight.

Good bag, but missing some key features.

I’ll start by saying I like this bag a lot and it’s really well made as you’d expect from MR. That being said, this bag is missing two key features. First, they need to make an update to include a true hip belt. The one that comes with it is absolutely worthless. This bag has enough space where it can get heavy enough to justify a proper hip belt. Second, there needs to be a hole to run a hydration bladder. A bag of this size should come standard with both of the missing features I mentioned. It doesn’t make sense for someone to load this is for a day hike and have the bag moving around because it lacks a proper hip belt. All of these features would make the pack more versatile and allow you to transition from EDC to a hiking day pack.
I’d recommend the bag if you only want to travel back and forth to work or in the airport, but look elsewhere if you want a smaller day pack for hikes.

I bought this backpack some days ago and it looks awesome and also very comfortable! Due having it few days I'm using it for carrying my laptop and another devices to office and soon I will test it at fields considering the rain cover I got with my backpack :D I just added paracord on zip pullers to add some color to my 2DAP :)

Great for EDC and Outdoor Daytrips

I was in need of a pack that could be used to carry a laptop, books, etc for office work but then could easily be used to guide an outdoor day trip. I have used this pack for a month now doing just that and it has worked perfectly. I also used it to travel internationally and it worked great for me. I used it as my carry-on. I placed it in the overhead compartment because I had no room for my feet when it was under the seat in front of me. The brain has two zip pockets which are great for carrying your "quick to get" items. The two long "bottle pockets" on the inside are great too but if you pack them full it fills most of the space within the pack. The two internal zip pockets are bigger in size and when full, are still out of the way. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the external pouches. They appear to be designed for 32oz bottles but unless you attach your bottle with a carabiner the bottles will fall out. The pack is comfortable to carry all day when used with the chest strap and waist belt. You can easily remove both as I did this for the international flight. FYI, Some international flights wanted me to gate check my bag due to full flights. Because I knew they were doing this and due to me wanting to keep my bag because my laptop was inside, I used the cinch straps (external compression with clips) to make my bag smaller. As I was passing through the line they stopped me to look at my bag. They shared that they thought the bag was bigger than that, and let me go on through. I share this because I almost bought the MR pack that didn't have the Molle webbing with compression straps or external pockets but I am glad I didn't. I wanted those features and it still worked. If you are looking for a pack you can carry around town through the week and within the wilderness for a weekend, this pack is for you.
