TP-Link Wireless Extender

Was having trouble printing/connecting my printers with the Shaw/Rogers router at 50 feet with no walls or floor in between. Rogers was willing to rent an extender/booster to me for $15/month. Of course I went to Best Buy to have a look at what they have, and found this unit for $40. Fairly easy to configure with my Epson ET-2850. Placed the TP-Link extender at 35 feet from router.

For the price point of this item, the boost was exactly what we needed. Set up was easy and it was up and running in 5 minutes.

OK device for the price. Setup was easy. Works well as range extender (catching main routers wifi). Using the Access Point mode in basement location (Ethernet backhaul). Realized that ethernet port is limited to 10/100Mbps which is disappointing. Can't use the full potential of my ISP speed, ethernet speed or 5G signal broadcasted based on the 100Mbps location. Would have been a great device if ethernet port would support 1Gbps.

Good at First Setup - Tough to Relocate

I set it up at home to take up to a nursing home for my mother.
The first setup, at home, was ok. Quite easy. The unit is compact and well made.
When I got to the care center I struggled a long time to set up for the new network.
And no instruction to be found. Even on reaching out to TP-Link there AI assisted advice did not work; even after a second go around with them.
I had to do some of what they suggested and use my own ideas to get a new clean working set up. POOR!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does its job well for extending wifi signals at home, can now connect to wifi in the basement. Good price for its specified area of wifi extension

Product works but the app is confusing

I bought one of these range extenders yesterday as I was using the wifi hotspot on my PC for my Meta quest 2 and 3 (my router is upstairs and my vr stuff is downstairs), I was having random lag spikes using my pc's hotspot, but those lag spikes are gone while using the extender. I DID find I had to set the extender to "access point" mode and figuring out how to do that in the app for the first time was a bit of a pain, but once I figured it out and placed it close to my downstairs network switch it has worked no problem, good transfer speeds and everything. I just don't like that it makes a separate wifi instead of mirroring the main one, but I guess thats what happens when using 2 different brands that won't "mesh" together (tp link extender and d-link router).

Bought this extender to extend wifi reception at home. Works awesome. I have now a strength signal in my office and no any issues. Highly recommend it to everybody. My rate 10/10
