My APC RS-1500 has proven to be a must during a few events, thunder storm and others.

The battery that I replaced lasted me more than twice the expected time. I assume the replacement will be reliable for at least its expected lifetime. My local utility often provided varying voltage and frequent momentary blackouts, especially in summer. After 5 or 6 years of constant duty my Nº 33 Battery called it quits, amazing that it lasted that long. Panic insued. Thinking that the actual unit was now probably 12 years old and guessing that replacement batteries might no longer exist, I quickly searched the net and happily found my thinking incorrect. I ordered the repalcement, it arrived a few days later. After reading the included info I found the free recycling process, repacked using the original shipping box and dropped it off at my nearest UPS shipping store. Quick and simple. I'm back in business with my backup battery.

The process wasn't without its challenges. The initial battery arrived damaged; manufacturing defect. Called APC for return authorization and a replacement. Second battery arrived promptly and undamaged. Used return label provided by APC and taken to UPS. Received email from APC that battery not received. Provided proof of delivery and issue closed. Process from beginning to end required more time than expected. Uncertain what would have happened if I didn't have proof of delivery. Keep all records, emails, and notes.
