Trusted Protection for Friedrich Mini Split Heat Pump

I installed this on the outlet which operates my mini split HVAC. Because this is the most difficult "appliance" in my home to install AND the extended warranty does not cover surges UNLESS there is a surge protector installed I went with this model and am well insured. BTW, the Friedrich unit has a normal 110v plug so this matched my needs perfectly.

It's not pretty but this surge-protected outlet is awesome! I just finished rewiring and replacing a bunch of electrical outlets in my 1996-built condo (I figured it's not a good sign when appliance cords sparked as they approached being plugged in!). I have some outlets located in areas that were not suited for a regular surge protector with a cord. These surge protectors fit the bill and the indicator lights let you know that all is well. I made mine "permanent" by using the center screw and included mounting bracket but you can choose to just plug it in and remove it as needed if you wish. Highly recommend.

Had an issue with the power. Cooked the TV connected to the surge protector. Yvonne in claims helped me through the whole process. Shipped a new unit free of charge to me the day I called, 30 days later they approved the claim. No fuss, no muss. Yvonne answered all my questions, was VERY helpful and friendly, walked me through what I needed to do.

I purchased these to place inside two conference tables to manage poser outlets built into the table. So far they are working great - although it's hard to say whether they have protected against any surges or spikes, but so far no damage to computers and devices using the power. These are compact and were able to fit within a limited space.
