Hopefully, i will never need to test it. i liked the price-point, features and brand reputation. i was disappointed the device protection coverage documents it requires any damage that occurs with the surge protector has to be sent in. This isn't practical with a refrigerator. Also, the manual was only in Spanish. i also wish it was thinner. it makes the fridge stick out a little further than i'd like.

Originally used with HDTV in guest room. When I had to add a cable box I swapped this with its 3 outlet sibling I was using for a laptop. This also works well with the laptop. It provides great protection and is very portable - easy to take along with the laptop.

Exceptional Security

I use several of these compact, single use surge proctor around my home. When I 1st moved to Central FL, lighting capital I had electrical surges in the past that have destroyed my control panels of the garage opener and the irrigation system. The repair people told me that my whole house surge proctor supplied my my electric is great for large appliances like the range, water heater and air conditioner but did noting for the basic plugged in appliance. I purchased several of these units and have not had a single failure since adding them in over 3 years ago. I have also purchased the 2 outlet units and use them throughout my home!
