Within six months of purchasing several of these Spikecubes we experienced a thunderstorm with severe lightning, four of the spikecubes were fried, saving the appliances that were plug into them. They saved me untold amounts of money and aggravation. When I contacted Tripp-lite they sent me replacement spikecubes. Great product and amazing customer service. I highly recommend Tripp-lite products.

Ideal for protecting a modern treadmill

I bought this to protect the sensitive electronics in a treadmill, which can get fried by lighting and surges. The idea device will pass enough power for the motor and will occupy little space on the wall, which describes this device perfectly. The LEDs indicate that protection is available (I assume the protection LED goes out if the device absorbs a hit). I was a little confused because the "Grounded" LED came on as a red color. The packaging offers no information about the color/meaning of this light. Red usually means "not good". I found the product manual online and a red light means the ground is good. No light means no ground. I think both lights should be green and the included documentation needs improvement. But it is a good device and seems to be unique in this category.

Purchased the SpikeCube for my garage door opener. As electronics market enters the garage, I wanted my new purchase to be well protected. I chose the familiar name of Tripp-Lite to protect my garage door opener. I like the small size and the green and red lights that can easily be seen. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I haven't had a power surge to verify it provides the protection I purchased it for. It is a perfect solution for my opener.

Perfect for Large Appliances and Laptop Bag

This is the perfect surge protector for large appliances with "typical" plugs--I have my fridge and stove each plugged into one. I also keep one in my laptop bag--a small price to help protect an expensive Apple Powerbook!

This cube size suppressor is great for outlets where you might have just one item needing protection. We have several of these in our house; one for our coffee pot. It allows us to still use the second outlet for another appliance.

A nice little product that I like to use in my kitchen for a lot of the little appliances like my coffeemaker. It's indicator LEDs make it easy to know that the appliances are protected at a glance. After doing a lot of research on the different surge protector manufacturers out there, Tripp Lite was the only company I felt I could trust. I don't work for them or anything, just someone who had trouble with surge suppressors in the past, and realized quickly that the products are only as good as the company that stands behind them. For future upgrades to the product, I would like something that easily plugs into both outlets at the same time and provides you with two outputs to match the typical wall electrical outlet.
