Not what I was hoping

I purchased these to fight off superhero's and validation seekers at the gym.... Nope, did not work. Noise canceling is terrible for gym stuff. Can hear the grunting and groaning, weight droppers and weight smashers...... Airport noise is mediocre.
These are my 3rd set of noise canceling headphones by Sony. These will probably be my last. I am not convinced the technology is what its hyped up to be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Outstanding Earbuds

These are the best earbuds I've ever owned. I've had Bose, Jabra, Beats and more but these beat them all. The sound is clean and crisp and to my liking. They are a pleasure to listen to and easy to use. Noise cancelling is good and I like the Speak to Chat feature which stops the music whenever I begin to speak. It also stops me from singing out loud which is a good thing for anyone nearby.
They come with ear tips in small, medium and large. I tried them all and landed on large, which were the best fit but still hurt my ears. Furthermore they rarely passed the air-tightness test on the app which determines the optimal ear tip size. None of the sizes passed no matter how many adjustments I made. Then I read some people mentioning that the earbuds were even better with a pair of Spinfit CP360 eartips, which I happened to have from trying to fit a previous pair of earbuds. This was a game changer. They fit perfectly, feel comfortable and improve the sound. They also pass the air-tightness test every time.
The only gripe I have is the limited functionality available on the touch sensors on the earbuds. You have only a limited number of choices and options. No functionality to change music tracks; very limited phone functions, etc. You can choose a voice assistant but choosing that further reduces what is available on the sensors. This aspect of the buds falls way behind the competition. This prevents me from giving a full 5 stars
Regarding the value equation, the price is ridiculous. But if you are prepared to spend this kind of money and good quality truly wireless earbuds are important to you, the price is worth it.

Get these if you can afford

The fit compared to the xm3's alone is enough for me to recommend them over the others, but the battery life and the SUBSTANTIALLY smaller case (trust me you notice it when it's in your pocket all day) make these the absolute best pair of wireless earbuds I've ever tried.

Headphones are great ear tips are not

Had these headphones for about a week they sound amazing. The foam ear tips do make noise cancelling better. The main problem is the foam tips ripped within the first week of use. At $400 you figure they would build a product that would last. I ended up returning them. Will look for something with better quality build.

Hard to love and I really wanted to love these

I bought a pair after reading alot of reviews, stating that these are the best noise canceling ear buds on the market.

First off the noise canceling wasn't very good. I wore them on a flight, the only way to tune out talking around me was to have my music at full volume. Also the app doesn't allow you to control the intensity of noise canceling.
Second, the right ear bud's battery drained faster than the left. If you put the right earbud back in the charger while listening to music on the left one. The music would stop and couldn't be played without the right one.
Last and probably the worse. The memory foam ear pieces cracked after 5 days of use!!! they would also fall out after an hour use. I tried all the ear tips it came with but nothing fixed that problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Definately Sony at the top of their game

These buds are brilliant. The ANC is so good you'll think you have over the ear cans on. The controls are easy customizable. I find the fit to be great for my ears and I don't feel any discomfort even after hours of listening. Of course, the sound quality from these buds is truly great and as good as anything you'll find. The only minor gripes, despite Bluetooth 5.2 they lack the ability to pair with multiple devices simultaneously, and the lid on the charging case wiggles just slightly more then I expected. But I love the compact size of the charging case. Over all, no regrets, I really love these
