Good quality at a low price...

As my first Android device, I found the Captivate to be easy to use and very durable. I got a lot of enjoyment out of my Captivate before upgrading to the Galaxy S II. The Captivate is a breeze to root and ROM to your desire, and it is extremely hard to brick this phone.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no camera flash, no forward facing camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love the speed and ease of use that comes with owning this device. Seriously the only thing I have any issue with is my backgrounds don't scroll on this phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no scrolling wallpaper

Great high end android phone when it was released.

Great phone when it was new. It also lasted me an entire year after spending 20 minutes at the bottom of a lake. Tough, simple, reliable. Only complaint I consistantly had about this device were the Carrier bloatware and the completely useless GPS.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I loved this phone! I upgraded from the Intercept and this one is really great I have had it for a couple of years now and my son now has it because I upgraded to the galaxies! Still works great and has taken a beating with my kid!

I bought this phone very first day available. I had been reading up on it , couldn't wait to get it.( Had a blackberry curve beforehand). the sleek design and features are awesome, very fast and the pictures are outstanding. my blackberry's camera was absolutely horrible!
the captivate has some glitches, like when replying to a text (which I use constantly) within in my own area code, it will fail because it requires a 10 digit #, even though the phone # is saved as a 10 digit # in my contacts list. the battery life drains very quickly..no camera flash, poor signals. and yet I absolutely love the phone, still learning and discovering new things with it. the volume is superb ! I'm a school bus driver so I need high volume when my dispatcher calls!

It's a great phone with outstanding performance. The ultra clear video screen is most appealing, photo's are flawless and the sound is crystal clear. I've had problems with my phone not wanting to download new applications, nor does it want to play .wav files. I'm new to the android market so perhaps there's an app out there, but other than the phone is outstanding.
