Amazing Device!

I have owned this phone for 3 months now, and I absolutely love it! I have never had any issues with it. The battery life is excellent, SWYPE is easily the most effective way to input text. AND BY FAR THE MOST AWE-INSPIRING FEATURE ON THIS PHONE IS THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SCREEN! At first sight the screen just makes you go... wow! and 3 months later i still am captivated (no pun intended... hehe) by the excellent AMOLED screen. The weight of this product is unbelievably light, it literally feels like I am holding a feather. It is also durable, no cracking of the screen like the iPhone when you drop it on a pillow...
There are two downsides about this phone, one is the fact that is is the only major remaining Android still operating on 2.1; the other is that there is no front-facing camera.
Overall, I highly recommend this phone to all AT&T users!

What iPhone?!?! I cannot get enough of this phone!!! It's sleek, super fast and just an all around awesome phone. I love that you can download live wallpapers, ringtones, and stuff you didn't even know you needed or wanted. The Captivate can do just about anything the iPhone 4 can and maybe even better. The only thing that would make this phone even more fantastic is if it has a dual camera. But I can get over that. I am so in-love with this phone, it's ridiculous! =)

Great value, w/ a couple caveats

This is a great phone overall: swift performance; useful features out of the box; intuitive interface; great looks.
Nit-picks: the power/suspend button is directly across from the volume buttons, causing occasional accidental presses; no upgrade to Android 2.2 yet; the camera lens is close to the corner of the case, causing frequent finger pics until you get used to holding it 'just so.'

The name speaks for it's self, love this phone. Very easy to learn and use, especially like the delete feature. If you have an APP your not going to use just hold and drag to the garbage can.
I have several friends that have IPhones and they all think mine is better.
Camera takes peautiful pictures.

I work in construction and tend to drop it a lot and have been amazed at how much punishment it can take.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: upgrades hard to optain

Incredible First Smartphone Experience

I could not have been happier with any other smartphone. Straight out of the box I was blown away with the features, the asthetic design, and performance of this wonderful device. The iphone 4 never came close. A year and a half later and the Captivate is still my primary mobile device. I do have to admit that I have done a fair share of modification through guidance from xda developers, but I believe it just shows not only the versatility of this phone but also the love and dedication of the developer community towards it. Thank you!

Best phone I'VE ever used.

I am not a big cell phone person, but.... Since using the Captivate I have discovered an all new tool that is indispensible to anyone who need electronic tools, communication, access to thousands of useful apps, etc. etc. etc. I'd previously played with my brother's iPhone and thought it was great. But, it doesn't compare to the Captivate. And, I showed my phone to a co-worker who is a strict, "I just need to dial and talk" cell phone user. He said that he now wanted this phone because it was way too cool and useful. Now, I don't see myself going back to the dark ages since I've been exposed to the light of what a cell phone/companion and personal assistant is supposed to be. And, I now have a really good extra camera and video recorder. WOW.
