I am really impressed with this device. It is beautiful, sleek, and capable. The spped is impressive and it has many handy features. The display is the most impressive I have ever seen.
It does have a few drawbacks -
- Needs a second camera for video chat
- The raised name on the back is annoying
- Very little support info for video files - would like a reason for files that won't play - i.e. unsupported video type
-Would be nice to be able to add titles to home pages
- Rear facing speaker make multimedia less enjoyable

I saw this phone and liked it from the beginning... I've been using a Jack with windows mobile, but wanted something with a bigger screen... Captivate so far has met my expectations... Batter life could be a bit better, but again... so far so good...
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

No dought this phone is the best and the coolest phone I have ever owned! Big screen, Cool Apps, and Neat features! I wish the speaker was some how on the front but i love the big screen! Tower Signal seems to be alittle bit less than my flip by motorola. Example: Home i had 5 bars with the flip by motorola. Samsung Smartphone i got 3 to 4 bars! Only in certain area's I have noticed! So far it's not that big of a deal. I always used motorola or Nokia! This is a great phone for the money!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, audio search, phone features
Cons: hard to hear sometimes

I got my phone less than a week ago, and had trouble getting the SIM card to transfer over, so I took it to my local ATT shop, and the guy there, not only transferred my contacts but he gave me a 15 minute tutorial, which I highly recommend. I do a lot of Marketing for a small Naturopath clinic, and I need to be able to update FB and Twitter on the fly, and this phone allows me to, with two clicks. Its very fast in its searching, and with wi-fi everywhere I can easily get online. Apps are very easy to download and maintain. I will say the battery life could be longer, but you know, if you use your phone all day, you are going to run into that problem, but with the battery charger and the usb you can plug into your computer at work and get a charge. Its very easy to use, and a good weight, its very sleek, but its not going to fall out of your hands like some other fruity phones.
The Screen and graphics are amazing. There are so many apps that there is something for everyone. I am really impressed with this phone, I have had a few other smart phones in the past, but this one takes the cake.

I am into technology but on a limited income, so when I contract was up, I shopped around and listened to other buyers, and made my choice. I am very happy with my phone, and I talk to my friends and family about it, I do believe my own mother will be getting one when her chance comes around in April.
After a few months, I am going to come back and update this profile.. say February or March... see you then!!

What GPS?

This is my second new Captivate. Both have defective GPS. Second unit worked perfect for one day and then back to same problem. Build date 12-17-2010. I cannot believe that GPS hardware problem has not been addressed yet!

Cons: gps defective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
