the phone is slow it freezes up i have to take the battery out to and restast.it's not 4g capable. very unhappy with the phone wish i wiuld've bought the inspire.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, slow, freezes up, not 4g
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this products has 2.2 firmware that does not seem able to handle its functions

i have downloaded a simple 1 episode of a season show and it downloaded but will not play

I have been using this phone for a while yet, and don't have any problems with it. Although it occasionally freezes up when I am not patient enough for a screen to refresh from an App or while using the Internet Browser, it rarely has any memory blips or crashes. The Battery-Life could be improved a little, but I found an App that helps me with that too!
Pros: Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, memory and storage space
Cons: Not high def
I would recommend this to a friend!

i love this phone graphics are sick app dwnlds are super fast and samsung makes the best electronics....point blank period dot comma!!!!! very durable phone drop mine atleast once a day and have no probs with it.....make iphone look weak....besides the foward facing camera but i dont need that cuz im not obssesed with my self like most people....lol
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, tons of storage
Cons: battery life is not what i anticipated...5-10 hrs, still good tho

A Thoroughbred With a Few Fleas

With this being my first smartphone, I already knew that I was going to be like a kid in a candy store. There is no doubt that I am thoroughly entertained by this device. But, aside from all the really awesome features this phone has to offer, there were a couple of things that bugged me. Number one is the USB connection. Unfortunately, the process to sync to my media player feels complicated. There are several steps involved in order to do this. A plug-and-play option would have been much more attractive, but I guess that would have been too much like right. I am going to see if there is a syncing program available here on the Samsung website to make this a little easier.
The other slightly annoying issue I have had (not even a month into ownership) is with stability. Needless to say, I have downloaded a ton of apps for my new Android phone, and I am guessing the consequence for this is the occasional force close (when the program currently running shuts down completely). I have also had my phone to restart.
But, to be totally honest, I wouldn't trade this phone for another. I really am enjoying the Captivate very much. The Super AMOLED screen is truly amazing. I have watched as my display will auto adjust in direct sunlight, eliminating glare. The 5 Megapixel camera is terrific outdoors in the daytime. There is no flash, so the camera becomes worthless indoors without bright lighting (another negative). The 4 inch screen makes watching and recording HD video and websurfing very enjoyable. And I must say that the earbuds that come with the phone are exceptional.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: camera has no flash, stability issues, multi-step syncing

Truly is a worthy phone of purchasing and owning. Have enjoy the phone immensely and can't wait until Samsung Media Hub is available. Thanks Samsung for the BEST phone on the market. You guys are awesome!!!

I've always been a big fan of Samsung phones, and the Captivate just proves me right. This phone is amazing, and super fast. The Live Wallpapers, gives the phone a big plus. I definitely recommend this phone to everyone.

I love this phone! My only complaint is having to wait on the media hub store to watch movies. I don't have the skills to download my own movies to the computer to put on my phone, so this feature would be nice for me.
This phone is soooo much fun to use. My kids and nieces tell me it is more fun than the iphone. They love my phone as much as I do. I surf the internet, play games, and talk (a lot) on this phone. It's truely my most favorite phone yet. Thanks!
