Update to 2.2(Froyo) or 2.3(Gingerbread)

This phone is supposed to rival the Iphone correct. Well, the speed is good, video is super, audio quality is crisp, but it still lacks in many areas that a good software update would fix.
This excerpt taken from Samsungs own product specifications page:
"Galaxy S with Android 2.1 OS"
"Powered by the latest Android platform(and upgradeable to 2.2), "
"Powered by the latest Android platform(and upgradeable to 2.2), "
We need an update to 2.2 or 2.3. There were/are already other phones sold with these operating systems onboard, with the compatibility to use voice-type messenger services as the iphone uses like "Skype" for example (not available on 2.1).
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, needs an os 2.2/2.3 update
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GPS is TERRIBLE!!!

The GPS has not worked on my phone since I bought it. The 2.2 update did not fix this either. I'm not satisfied with this phone at all. This will be the last Samsung phone I ever purchase
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, gps doesn't work

I am a gadget lover and I've gone through a couple of phones in the last year or two, including the iPhone. A friend who has the Samsung Fascinate on Verizon recommended the Captivate to me and now we constantly gloat about our lovely devices. Until I got the Captivate, I have never been so satisfied with a cell phone! There are so many aspects you can customize in order to make the phone an experience just for you. The navigation is smooth and the interface just feels right. I find myself constantly messing around with the phone just because it's so entertaining. The battery life could be a little bit better, but it definitely gets through the day, if not exactly one day. Both Samsung and Android have officially won me over. All in all, I'd tell every person in my life that they better get this phone!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, customizable interface, high storage capacity, sleek design
Cons: mediocre battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone is horrible. I've had several trade ins, and all have the same problems. I can't connect to any computer, Mac or PC. I can't get the phone to update. Call are constantly being dropped and messages aren't being recieved.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Has the options of syncing with vehicles via bluetooth and automatically connecting to wi-fi yet does not do so properly. Has frequent issues with freezing up.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

The phone is very durable. It freezes up once and a while. but i think that is do to the apps, I downloaded. some apps will make your phone do crazy thing. This model is better than the Galaxy S 2. The locking back is a great feature.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight

I am so impressed with the Galaxy s3. I had the captivate before and that blew the products of it's time out of the water. the s-3 is so much faster and will do more than you can imagine.
