Very, very slow

This device is everything I would want in a phone and then nothing I would want. The speed is a definate problem. It has lag EVERYWHERE, in all applications. I could not recommend this phone to someone and then have to explain why I didn't tell them it's so slow and performs very poorly.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: slow!!!

NO DROID OS 2.2 UNTIL LATE 2011

Do not get this phone unless you plan on rooting it. Samsung releases OS updates to the UK but not the US. Without Droid OS 2.2 you cannot voice dial via bluetooth and have no ability to run flash. I use to be a Samsun supporter, not any more.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, lag no os update

Bought this product because i have many samsung products at home and thought their phones would be great too. This phone did not come with any software for syncing, i cannot update my software, my emails do not always provide notices, no flash for camera, the back button does not work that great. not satisfied

This phone is a neat toy but a terrible phone and internet device. It constantly crashes and since you never know when that happens you will only get about 10% of your calls, only right after you turn it off and reboot it. The wireless only works for a few days then you have to use the allshare for the connections. The battery only lasts 1-2 days.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Too big, Did not meet expectations, unreliable as a pone., no wireless after the first few days.

I've had nothing but trouble with this phone in the past year. It deletes messages because it does a force close on the messaging app. The phone right now, isn't even working. Which is the 2nd time it has done this. The last time I had to do a factory reset, which causes you to lose everything you have saved to your phone. If you get it, save your contacts to your sim card, which is what I had to do. Android Processing never works on it, I get a bunch of error windows coming up and it force closes everything I use. It's not working right now, as I said, and when I need it, it's never there to be used. The only use I have for it at this moment is a very expensive paperweight since it's not working. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

Cons: Did not meet expectations, never works, force closes everything, unreliable, poor service, drops calls, processing doesn't work

I got this phone because it appeared to be what I had been waiting for:

I have worked in the mobile space for 5 years now and this is my 7th or 8th "smart phone."
I have now had the phone for about 3 weeks and there are so many issues with this phone that it's hard to cull the list to something controllable.
The first issue that I ran into is that the phone automatically shuts off. There have been several times that my phone has been sitting on my desk right next to me and it has powered off--even with a full charge!
It was doing this before I installed any apps and persists now that I have installed several apps.

The Email app that comes on the device is horrible. It constantly loses communication when I click on an email and there are times that the app locks up entirely. The Gmail app doesn't have any issues on my phone and runs fine all of the time.
Often when I go to type something my text will not appear on the screen and I have to hope that it is correct. If I hit the back button to show the fields I can see my text, but when I go back to editing it my new text will not show up.
Battery life is horrible. I don't think of myself as a heavy user, but most days I can't make it through an entire day without having to charge it again for a while before the end of the day.
If the sun is out and I am outside I might as well not have a phone because I can't see this one with direct sunlight. I've tried holding the phone at all sorts of angles, with polarized sunglasses on and off and the screen is basically black. I have to find a dark shady spot to be able to see my screen.
The phone is great in theory, but I can't recommend this device to anyone. I may go back to my BlackBerry.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anybody until Samsung gets it's act together and fixes the KNOWN GPS problems. It's sad to say they are still releasing this product with a known problem. Other than that, it's a nice platform with great possibilities.

Cons: gps is faulty, price
