Potentially Nice Phone - Poor GPS accuracy

I have owned my phone for 1 day and the GPS accuracy is unacceptable. The screen is beautiful, but the GPS hops around and cannot be trusted. GPS is an integral feature of Android, not an afterthought, and so poor GPS performance is totally unacceptable. I have been using the device outdoors with an unobstructed view of the sky. I am also disappointed that there is no FM radio. Media features and user interface are nice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thought this was a great phone... I will be returning mine and going with something else, This phone powers itself off randomly when in sleep mode. Too bad cause i liked it until i started experiencing this problem. Reading the bulletin boards, there are a whole lot of folks out there in the same boat I am in. search for "Samsung Captivate powers off randomly" and you will see.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, powers off randomly during sleep, expensive, no real support

random shutdowns

Great phone, except for the random shutdowns. The phone sometimes shuts down when in standby. I took the first phone back to ATT, they replaced it, no questions asked. Second phone worked for a few days, but is shutting down hourly now. I like the phone enough to troubleshoot, but the forums indicate that many people have this issue, and there is no clear resolution.
Cons: doesn't work
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't buy this phone - unexpected power off problems

This phone has power management problems. It will turn itself off without warning. Google "Captivate Power Off" before you make a mistake.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

previously i have a torch but i have had some problems with phone so i change it to the samsung galaxy s captivate and my life change this is a piece of art this is a great phone, awesome i recomend it aaaaaaaaaaaaa++++++++++++++

Cons: battery life

Just a sexy phone to have.

My wife brought home a captivate for me because she knew I would love it. Little did I know, I would have to buy one of my own. We both have the same device, but two completely different smart phones and it's hot. It does tend to freeze from time to time but as apps improve for this device I see things only getting better. As for designs, it really could have used a flash, not to mention a front facing camera.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, sexy
Cons: Did not meet expectations, needs a flash! and a front facing camera!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had this phone about a week and so far i love it. it looks and feels great. it has amazing displays and i love the four inch screen.the only con i have is the battery life.
