nice looking but slow

I had Nexus One and HTC EVO before switch to Capitvate. The GalaxyS has a very nice design. However, it usually tkae more than 10 minutes to start up. I have received calls while waiting for the phone to boot up. It rings with black screen. I have nothing to touch in order to receive the call. The response time is also amazingly slow compare with NexusOne and EVO. It usually takes about 2-4 seconds to respond to a touch. However, I have to say that the screen is amazing.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, slow

I got this phone about three weeks ago. It shuts off automatically all the time. I searched the web and discovered that many people have this problem. What good is a phone that will not stay on?
Cons: Poor quality, turns off by itself...defective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recently traded in my Apple I 4 for a Captivate after I got tired of trying to download I Tunes and finally when I did it crashed my phone. Stay away from Apple. I love my Captivate which is better looking, better performing and less expensive than the I 4. It has more features, apps and you're not chained to I Tunes. It is easy to get around the phone and you dont have to be that tech savvy to operate it. The only things I wish Samsung would have done for the Captivate is make a way to enlarge font on the text and e mail screens and give it a flash. These two items were big disappointments but not deal breakers. The apples are over rated and way over priced for what they deliver. The Captivate was worth the money and I feel free from the Apple wanna be dynasty. Take the plunge!!!

Not perfect, but truly great. Best computer I have ever owned; gets better every day as I learn better how to use it!
Battery life is not bad, but obvously more features means more draw and this computer begs to be used. It has a strong attraction for my hand... I can hardly put it down... :-) So, it spends a lot of time charging.
Wanted: An accessory battery cover with a priority external battery slot and a silicon rubber protective cover to match the cover. Phone should run on internal battery during switching of external batteries.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best phone you will EVER buy

I've had my captivate for a month. It is responsive, love the touchscreen and how you can have vibration let you know you hit a key (my husband has neuropathy in his hands and this was a must so he knew he was hitting the correct keys). I have not dropped one call. The colors on the screen are phenomenal. Next upgrade put the face to face talk on and an LCD flash, and you've got it all over iPhone.

I dont regret my decisions, this is a very nice slick /sexy/ big flat screen and envy product.

I'm coming from a Blackberry (and I did love my Blackberry), but I have to say this phone takes smartphones to a new level. I love the design, size, weight, and the Android OS is unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this product.

Poor Samsung Support In US

I bought this phone because it seemed like the best Android phone on AT&T (stuck on family AT&T contract). Though I like the phone & features, I'm very disappointed in rollout (lack of) of Android 2.2 and also the lack of Kies (iTunes like PC interface) support. Otherwise I would have given the phone 5 stars. I'm quickly loosing confidence in Samsung's ability to compete with the iPhone and other Android phones!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, awesome design
Cons: Did not meet expectations, us support lacking
