Not good after a while

after a years usage the phone begins to slow down and freeze. the battery runs out way to face then normal. This phone is not a long term phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still Rockin'

I've had this device for 2 years now, and it still functions perfectly. I've bricked it many, many times, and even thrown it across the room (by accident of course), but it still works great. I am running CyanogenMod 9 on it right now, and it feels almost like new. I am upgrading to a Galaxy S III next month, but the Captivate will be missed.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no front facing camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oldie but a goodie

I've had this phone for nearly 2 years, and it's showing it's signs of age in that it doesn't have as much RAM or CPU cores or better graphics as the newer phones, but this was the first really competitive Android phone on AT&T from Samsung (perhaps from all manufacturers at the time) and it really shined in how well it performed and how people have and still do rally behind it to provide customizations, including Android 4.0 and newer custom ROM's, even if they are unofficial. It's had it's share of drops and bumps, but still going strong and I'll use it until it gives up the ghost, because it can still play most modern games.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Not high def
I would recommend this to a friend!

Didnt have good experience

I have had 4 of these phones 2 of which had software issues and 2 of which had the insides of the screens bust with very little pressure applied.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

When I purchased this phone , 2 years ago, it was a great phone. Just purchased another Samsung phone, the Galaxy SIII. Hope I'll enjoy it as much as I did the Captivate

Great Phone and easy to use

I love this phone! It is my first Android phone and I love it. I highly recommend it. I love the threading of messages and the two-color scheme which makes text messages easy to read and track.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, threading of messages
Cons: need to charge it everyday
