It will Captivate you!

Samsung has never disapointed me. They are always inovating and on tope of the game. I have had the Solstice, the Impression and now the Captivate and all of them have been great phones. But the Captivate has exceded all expectations. First design, just a beautiful phone. Nice lines and very cool carbon design in the back. Fits just fine in your hand and its light. And if I had to pic between iphone and captivate bases on looks. I would always pic the captivate. Now the screen. Just a beautiful 4" super AMOLED display. With resolution at 480×800, the Captivate has vibrant colors, crisp pictures and videos. Now I couldn't figure out why they didn't put a small LED flash, but it still taked good pictures at night and inside. Not to bad I would say, they still look really good on the phone. The screen is a capacitive screen so you know its just smooth. Running android 2.1 and touchwiz 3.0 with a 1GHz hummingbird processor, the phone quick and snapy. I have not encounterd any lag. I am hearing that it is upgradeable to android 2.2 froyo, but have not done it so I can't say much on it. I just know that it will make the phone faster and it has new features.
All in all this is an all around phone. Good for media and business. I would highly recomend this phone to any one looking for an iphone replacment. To me the iphone is a dead phone. Everything is white and gray like a hospital. It has no life. The captivate on the other hand is fully customizable and like I said has just beautiful colors. Would highly recommend this phone phone or any other galaxy phone for that matter.

LOVE my new phone

I am 40+ years young and find this phone the greatest. I live in remote Alaska and the reception outstanding. It was so easy to to learn to use. The "Handwriting box 2" is AWESOME for texting.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to use

I can't say enough about this phone. I had a iphone and it doesn't compare to the captivate. I has all the features you could want in a smart phone and the best part is deals can be had if you shop around.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight, large display, no gate keeper app (itunes) for uploading files.
Cons: none

Phones only good for a few days

I bought this phone a while back. It worked great for the first few days, weeks maybe. It was awesome. Since then it has nothing but problems. The phone freezes, applications crash, and now I cannot even get on the internet. I try to open a browser and it says blocked access to this URL. Battery life started out awesome. I could play games and be on FB all day and still have battery life left. Now, it barely even charges. I would not buy this phone. I would look elsewhere.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, battery life, internet inconsistant, speakers aren't loud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst phone I've ever bought

Not to hate on samsung, it may be AT&T but this is the worst phone I've ever had. Glitches all the time, apps always force close, drops calls every other call, won't let me call out most of the time.. Even if I have full bars. I had the iPhone 3G before the Captivate and I must say I was much happier with it. Battery lasts about half the day when fully charged.
It always cuts out during calls, doesn't send texts 75% of the time. Honestly theres to much to list.
The only thing I really like about it is that it is light weight, sleek, modern design.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, cheap speaker, antenna problems, freezes, force closes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WOW! amazing everything

I am in awe over the design, functions, and the super AMOLED screen. Coming from iPhone 3, my captivate blows it outta the water. Super fast, uber sexy, and just WOW! Built in 16 GB is fantastic; light weight (fits in shirt pocket); thin but not slippery like others; Swype is fast and amusing; so glad I bought this phone :D

I have had this product almost since the day it came out. I switched from blackberry to Android and couldnt have been happier. Then it began, I have had 4 phone so far in total, all that froze, glitched, died, and generally just didnt function. The phone was manufactured with faulty gps soft and hardware that never commmunicated with each other properly, the phones massive run list is not compensated by its RAM which causes frequent freezes and the inevitavble battery pull. All in all for what its supposed to do it does not.
One brightside to this paperweight, the screen absolutely will not scratch unless you are ruibbing sandpaper on it.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, doesnt friggin work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
