Great first Smart Phone

This was my first entry into the "smart phone" world and I'm glad to say I was very impressed. The original Galaxy S was everything I hoped it would be. The only two negative marks I could say about this phone is that the battery life wasnt great (which i hold Android 2.1 mostly to blame) and the camera, while good, wasnt great. other than that, look and feel was awesome and made me so happy that i went android over apple.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: battery life, camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a great phone. I used it for two years before getting an upgrade! Thanks, Samsung!

...two [major] glitches for how I use the phone

1) The Captivate won't sync with outlook calendar (has to be goodle calendar).
2) Can't put 2 phone numbers (home and cell) and email address, for the same contact, on the sim card.
On my other Samsung phone I could do both. Otherwise it's fine, but I am seriously thinking of going back to my other phone.

Easily navigated,
large storage onboard,
screen is a good size,
speakers are loud enough
slim design
durable
I have dropped this phone several times and it stands up. It also seems well sealed. Aside from being submerged it has not suffered water damage.
Overall I love this phone.
