I got the phone when it first came out - I even bougtht the iPhone and a week later, the Captivate came out and I returned the iPhone. I loved the display and the larger screen. I have since upgraded and gave this phone to my daughter-in-law.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

I have had this phone for a little over two years. When I first got it I loved it ,but then they released the Iphone 4s and Iphone 5. I felt like it got out dated quickly and couldn't do all the latest things in the "cell phone world". But, I have dropped it like a million time and it only has a few dents in the corners! I'm hoping to upgraded to the Galaxy S3 soon!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, out dated
I would recommend this to a friend!

First generation almost always has problems

I had to return this phone 5 times to get one that with a GPS that works! But even then, it was inaccurate. But overall, it was an 'okay' phone.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, gps was very poor and inaccurate
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had this phone for 1 year and LOVED it. As soon as it was out of warranty, it was constantly locking up. The battery would drain so quickly it was constantly on the charger. I had to take the battery out sometimes 15 times a day because it would lock up on me. I couldn't wait to be able to upgrade to get a new phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: battery life, locked up
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

TOO SENSITIVE

the screen is too sensitive to my face, changing screens and applying apps as it wants to. I can be mid-call and suddenly the other party can't hear me b/c the screen has changed! and at times, it goes into "warp mode"..when trying to place a call, it does something totally different.
would NOT recommend this phone! this is my first experience with a smart phone and I can't wait til I can upgrade.

Phone worked well until i did a firmware upgrade. Once i did that the phone took forever to boot up and it would sporadically turn off even when in the middle of a phone conversation. I really loved my samsung impression but the captivate was performance wise a step down in samsung quality.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

i HAD THIS PHONE FOR ABOUT A YEAR BEFORE IT BROKE AND IT ONLY BROKE BECAUSE IT WAS RAN OVER. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A GREAT PHONE AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH IT
