Great Android Phone

For those of us still looking for a fully functioning "real" keyboard, this phone is the best of both worlds...fully operational touch screen and a full keyboard that slides out when you want it....fast on the internet & great phone...would recommend to anyone!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color

My 1st Android phone after having an original "i"Phone for 3 years. Construction quality is slightly lower than the apple. However the replaceable battery, MicroSD card additional memory and Android OS makes up for the slight decline in construction quality.
Overall a Great phone!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: lower quality construction than apple
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone before ICS upgrade

My phone worked great before the upgrade to ICS. I believe it didn't go too well, and the phone seemed to be much slower. I got the S3 and my wife seems to happy with this phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Has it's issues

Over all I love my captivate, the only issue that I have and it costs more than I paid for this phone to fix is the search key will press itself. It's very irritating and an expensive fix. Other than that I love the phone it's slick and thin, not bulky at all =) And after research this is a VERY common issue with this model, I have NEVER had an issue with a Samsung product so I am pretty disappointed that they are not doing something to resolve it that doesn't end up costing an arm and a leg!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: search key is known to press itself, internet is very slow
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is by far one of the best phones I have ever owned. Very reliable, sable, and fast. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the GPS is terrible. It sounds like this is an issue with all of the captivates.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: gps is bad

I loved this phone! It was my first Android phone and well worth the wait. I still use it to this day as a media player and game console for my son.
It has a bright screen, decent sound, and can be quite responsive.
When this was my primary phone, I found performance degraded as I installed more and more apps (I had over 100). My best guess is that a number of these apps supported background data processing.
Also, having gone through 3 of these (mostly due to misdiagnosis by the warranty center), the only real issue I found is that eventually, the soft key for search starts activating itself.
It has a bright screen, decent sound, and can be quite responsive.
