Mixed feelings - Great phone - Kies software not so great

I've had the phone about a month. I love it! The main reason I went this route vs it's big bad competitor is the fact that it was slated (and have been as of 9/7/12) available for the Ice Cream Sandwich Android update. My major complaint is the KIES software which you MUST use to update the phone. Basically, it stinks. Never detects my phone. I have tried on 3 different PCs to no avail. It just sits there and gives you a 'connecting' screen on the PC and never connects. I left it running overnight and still hadn't connected. Hopefully SAMSUNG will get it fixed soon because I'm considering returning it to AT&T to get one of those big bad competitor's phones. However, I have no issues with the phone and the version of Android installed, but I'd like the latest and greatest to fully enjoy the Android experience.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, slide out keyboard easy to type on vs the screen
Cons: kies software connection issues, apparent lack of tech support from samsung
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the design but greatly dislike the spotty performance. Still needs another android upgrade to work out tethering bug. Much better on exchange e-mail after upgrade. Still not
Cons: Did not meet expectations, buggy operating system and basic e-mail software
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this phone after the Black Jack II was a bust. I took the recommendation from the salesperson that this product was much better and faster than the last phone. (Black Jack II,Which I had to replace once because the hardware did NOT work) I got this phone and had the same issues. It has never been able to update, it stops sending texts, getting notifications, doesn't ring sometimes, Can't hear people on the other end & visa versa sometimes, it shuts itself off, it doesn't want to load anything much of the time...even with full bars. The phone was purchased for convenience in my business, speaker work only when they want, it can't handle anything. I have to use my BJ II in order to get texts and notifications back. Guess it's a good thing I didn't turn it to dust...I wouldn't mind the phone if the rest worked. I like the design, I like the looks of the display. The phone just can't handle real usage.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy to navigate , great design, Great speed. Just one small improvement needed. Software 2.3.5 Gingerbread needs some improvement. All previous updates run extremely great. Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
This phone was super amazing at the beginning. The first 20 days made me feel like Samsung had fixed all freezing issues and I didn't have to worry about the phone being so slow as time went on. WRONG!!! By the end of the month, the phone was freezing up and it was so slow that I was ready to throw it against a wall! The Camara is amazing. The features are amazing but the speed and freezing has made me not want another samsung phone. I had this phone for 1 year and I am purchasing a new phone from AT&T that is NOT a samsung.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, great features, great camara
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

I guess I got used to giant screens from samsung, so this one felt too tiny and was hard for me to operate. Also, I hated that there was no easy to find call-forwarding option.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This phone has great features, a lovely interface, great screen, nice camera..which is all great- but it does no good when the thing is constantly freezing up. or your callers can't hear you due to a terrible microphone. I got this to replace another device that I'd dropped, but quickly realized that repairs to the other device would be needed due to the inability to make a respectable phone call. As if that wasn't enough, it constantly froze up. Had to do a hard reset more than once. Now it is just dead due to the USB charge port is just dead. DEAD. dead. Not worth the price or energy to repair.
