Good phone.. Not without problems though

For the most part, this was a great phone to have, in spite of the problems. I never thought I got the greatest signal but I rarely dropped calls. and I know it wasn't always carrier related. (My kids' Galaxy II phones got better signal right next to me)
The GPS was the biggest let down. Worked "Ok" for tracking my exercise, never worked while driving.
Overall though, I was very pleased with the phone!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor gps
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worst smartphone I've ever owned.

Since my initial purchase of this phone in June of 2011, I've been back to ATT repair 4 times, had the battery replaced, several sim cards and used the insurance to replace the phone with all the same problems. For the first month or so it works but quickly becomes very slow to respond, even when all the music, pics and emails are deleted. The phone will not hold a charge, and I've missed a number of calls because the phone does not ring.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my Captivate. I just wish there was better communications between Samsung, AT&T, and the end user. All in all, the Captivate has been an awesome phone. I would buy one again, as it has held it's own in the ever-increasing specifications on new cell phones. I can still run high-end applications, even though my phone is 18 months "old".
i've had this phone for a year now. 6 months ago it started to freeze up ones a week. now it freezes up every day. i have to constantly turn it off and on to get it unfrozen and see all my missed calls and messages.bought my daughter a solstice and it does the same thing.we have a year left on our contract, we will not be getting anymore samsung phones

This is to much to have to go threw just to upgrade a phone. Samsung really needs to do better and get like HTC bc they can upgrade without connecting to a computer and thats how it should be, then u want my info you really dnt need that for no upgrade.

Easy to use, good amount of memory, very lightweight, sturdy aluminum back!
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def
