great phone when new; however now that it's over a year and a half old it locks up often! battery stil good. thank god its upgrade time...

Love the phone, slow sometimes

Love the phone, but sometimes if it's not able to pick up WIFI the processing is slow.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color

I would have to say that this phone was a good phone for beginners on the Android aspect. The biggest issue I had with this phone was that it took forever to get updates.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, needed flash from the start, needs front camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

some early samsung captivates had GPS hardware issues where the phones GPS simply did not work. My Captivate on the other hand worked great! I never had any GPS issues at all.
up until the samsung note, the samsung captivate was the best phone i ever had.
it has everything you need in a smartphone and the 4 inch display is vibrant and spectacular.
it is a 3G phone. To me the phone had almost no cons and it is upgradeable to android 2.3
the only con would be the battery life. After two years of heavy use the battery would not hold a charge for more than a couple hours after heavy use. I never bothered replacing the battery though.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: after two+ years the battery didnt last as long
I would recommend this to a friend!

BUGGY!!!

ever since i did the gingerbread upgrade it keeps stating my tethering app has failed and it force closed the app. after it did that ten times it did a factory reset by itself and it still say that the tethering app has failed.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, buggy!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
