I love my galaxy S phone and the android operating system. Recently had an Iphone and I would never recommend an apple product to anyone. Way to go Android.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using this phone as my primary phone for nearly two years now, and I've been overall disappointed in this phone.
The only issue I had day one was that GPS couldn't quickly lock on and when it did it failed to track me. No big deal, but it defeats the purpose of an internal GPS the WiFi/Cell tower based GPS nomraly works a lot better.
Later on I had issues with my phone just shutting down in the middle of the night or rebooting when it was being operated. It was infrequent enough where it didn't cause to many problems.
Battery life is sub-par I can check my e-mails 4 to 8 times a day and take a 10 minute phone call and my phones dead before the work day is over.
Now the search button will act as if I keep pressing it, and the power button acts as if i'm not pressing it or that I'm holding it. That comes and goes.
For a phone I feel its has power, but the build quality is poor, and probably should have gone through additional testing before release.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, not reliable, poor gps, short battery life, ghost keys
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was my first introduction to Smartphones. It was included with my carrier plan when they switched services. The phone does what it is supposed to do and has been maintenance free. The Android system is pretty flexible and the phone operates with decent speed. On the down side, there is no onboard flash and there is no front facing camera.
I have had nothing but problems since I have had this phone. It freezes up or it does not pick up the data network. I am constantly having to turn it on and off or having to take the battery out to reset it. Not sure what phone I will get next but it wont be the Captivate 2!
Pros: Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, freezes up freqently, frequently does not pick up data network
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Admittedly, the phone had GPS issues at first, and to some extent it still does, but the phone's performance cannot be denied. It's a superior peice of equipment and to this day, still rivals some of the dual core phones out there in both speed AND quality.
The one downside that plagues this phone is that it does not come in white.
I have been very unhappy with the Samsung Captivate. I switched from the Iphone 3 & loved it at fiirst, but I soon realized that it was very unstable. It freezes up & blacks out constantly. As long as you don't add any apps it is fairly stable. But as soon as apps are added, the phone just chokes. It's a great phone when it is working correctly, but that rarely happens. I even demanded an exchange, because I truly thought my Captivate was a lemon. Unfortunately, the new one is doing the same things the old one did. Too bad, because if it was stable, it would be really great!
