Freezes

freezes and locks up daily, have to remove battery and reboot

I can't say that know how to use all the features, and sometimes it's a little slow moving, but overall I love this phone. Great screen, easy to use, lots of apps available. Love the swipe feature! Eyeing up the new one now....
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: sound is not great
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good phone but....

The Android OS is very nice and I like the feel of it in my hands. I have very big hands and it fits them well. Sound is a little tiny, could use some more bass. Unfortunately, not everything is well with the phone as I have issues with the screen slowly dying from the bottom up. My wife's phone (I bought a pair) seems to be having no problems.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, not durable at all

This phone was great besides the powering off issue.

I liked this phone fine until it started powering off for no reason. It powered off 3 times a day on average. Did the factory reset and still did it. Returned to ATT store and purchased the new skyrocket. All good now. Samsung products have been great to me in the past. This is the first time I had any issues.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, powers off on its own
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It turns itself off all the time. The sound is not that good. It's difficult to use. It takes me awhile to figure out how to connect the phone to my PC.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I have had my captivate for over a year and loved it my wife has an Iphone and my Samsung is so much easier to use and it is so user friendly much more so than her phone my son in law liked mine so much he chose it over the new Iphone 4 as well the android market makes getting and using apps so much easier it really is a great phone cant wait to upgrade to the new version with 4g

Meets the Basics

I got this when it first came out so now it's very obsolete. There is no front-facing camera and I cannot get the Kies Mini software to recognize the device so the firmware will never go past Froyo (Android 2.2). The resolution of the display and the unique Samsung features, however, still make me want to get a new Samsung phone, if the software can be easily upgraded.
