Captivating

I've owned this phone for over a year now, and I've been eligible for an upgrade for some time. It has been a struggle not to upgrade to the GSII, however, I'm still just thrilled with this phone. Aside from it's quirks (search button auto-press, terrible speed of updates from Samsung/AT&T), it's been a great phone and I've never had a complaint worth voicing. And, truth be told, after coming from the Samsung Flight (which I consider to be the worst phone I have ever owned), I'm back to being a loyal fan to Samsung.
Wonderful tool, amazing phone- a few clunky designs

As a phone- sound quality is excellent, it is very serviceable! As a mini computer- also excellent. Photos are lovely, camera is superb, and you could never sleep figuring out how to use all the apps available. Music quality is also excellent. A few problems: sometimes it is easy to accidentally hang up on people if your cheek brushes the touch sensitive screen. Also, there are times when the phone has been next to my skin (in my shirt) when it won't answer because it is too warm, and the answer key is not separate, but touch screen. That is annoying! Also, I wish it had a simple slide switch to put it on silent. AND it won't let you pick your own favorite apps at the bottom- it insists that you keep the four it chooses for you! WHY? I never use 2 of them. It basically makes that feature useless. I hate that it won't let you delete some of the AT &T apps. It feels manipulative. I wouldn't use them if you paid me. Other than that, I love the phone- it has held up very well so far - over 14 months and going strong! I do recommend the phone and love it. With a few tweaks it would be perfect.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, great sound quality, great features
Cons: some clumsy design issues
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this phone and thinking about get the New Samsung II, I have ATT but thinking about switching Providers with a few more options.
Being over 65, I had doubts about getting an Android phone, but the Captivate was simple to learn (am still learning), and so far superior to others I had tried. The camera is fantastic and I love the ability to just touch and zoom in on the picture. I learned to "swype" text in a jiffy and it is such fun and a timesaver The battery life is good, the volume great and so many apps and downloads to try! I love this phone and would recommend it to anyone of any age!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, swype text, great camera
Cons: placement of off/on directly across from vol.
