Love this phone Only had 1 problem with this model, any button across the bottom would bring up the search screen. I went though 3 phones to get one that didn't do it every time. Otherwise I had no problems.
went threw 8 of the same phone with nothing but issues. the sd card won't work on the phone. extremely slow. this phone is better used as a paper weight. do not buy the captivate
My opinion has improved since upgrading to 2.2 Froyo and having installed an App for battery life.
Good phone, but would recommend the new Samsung Galaxy 2.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got this phone back in Oct 2010. I rooted this phone and i love it. The GPS fix helped this phone and i have not had any issues with this phone so far. My son dropped this phone many times than i can remember. Still intact!!
If you are looking for a smart phone that is easy to leran and not difficult to use as a phone, then you will like the captivate. I have had it almost two weeks and am enjoying learning all the things it can do. Camera and video are high quality with very sharp pictures. You will need to check on the apps to see which ones you can get and use without having to pay your service provider extra, such as using google navigation instead of the one provided by your carrier.
