I have owned my phone for just over a year. For the last month my phone has producted NO sounds. At first it would come and go but now nothing. The only way I know I have a call is it vibrates. It also has a tendancy to stop responding but I love the look and feel of the phone but I have been disappointed with the sound issue move the the freezes. I wanted to purchase a Samsung Tab 10.1 but I am afraid it will not talking also.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: no sound, freezes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really like this phone. The only issue I have found with it so far is that the battery does not stay charged for long if I am using the applications.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

I've only had this phone for about a month but I've loved it since day one. My previous phone was a blackberry and i liked it a lot, but i decided that i wanted something with a little more kick. The Samsung Captivate fit that bill to a tee! My blackberry is a stone tablet in comparison. The amoled screen is phenomenal! Excellent clarity and videos play like a dream. I've never really liked touch screens but this one works extremely well. I LOVE all of the features of this phone. Its super fast and comes with 16 gig of onboard memory. Awesome!! I recommend this phone to everyone

Quite snappy. Beautiful display. Responsive touch. This phone has it all. I've used it for nearly a year and it has yet to disappoint. The screen is incredibly durable. The back has a few scratches but, despite many drops, nothing has broken.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, stereo headphones w/ inline mic included
Cons: no flash, plastic casing
I would recommend this to a friend!

The device over all is great. The main problem I am having is the unit shuts off by itself. I would really enjoy the device if it would stay on long enough to use it.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, function issues, turns off by itself.

I've used this phone for one year and have the following observations: Overall a very good phone even though the manufacturer stopped short with some features (flash) and with the carriers' "coopetition", continue to bumble through system upgrades.
PROS: Love the display and the UI is slightly better than good. The "hand-holding confidence" provides a good mix of weight & feel, and I feel good using the device.
CONS: the battery life and need to constantly close programs is annoying. (Made better with some Apps...still something else to manage) and the occasional "freezing" of the phone...ALWAYS WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING NOW...is amazing and maddening.
While I have not "rooted", I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of doing so.

i love this phone!!! i love everything about it so far! except theres no front facing lense wich i was really dissapointed about.... but overall i love this!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no front cam, no hdmi
