Very easy to use, It was a toss up between this phone and an iphone and this was and is the best choice.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, user friendly
Cons: no flash, occasionally freezes and force closure
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like this phone. It gives me tools for fun and productivity. I have had some issues with unexplained behaviour with some applications. And I also experience occasional poor battery performance even if I try to optimize the usage.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: battery performance

The Samsung Galaxy Captivate is a great phone when it's not freezing up. I would recommend it to friends as the specifications are number one hands down. Hope that Samsung adds Android Gingerbread soon to the firmware list which would propel this beauty even further.

Great product, poor support

I thought the phone was a great product. Samsung has the best displays in the Android world. I would rate the "support" low as it took over a year after the release of Android 2.2 Froyo to be upgraded to it.
I am not a fan of Touchwiz on the phone, but that is fine as it can be skinned with LauncherPro. I think AT&T puts too much bloatware on their products, but that's easily fixable by rooting the phone.
The battery life is terrible, but that is standard on products like this. It is manageable.

Cons: battery life, touchwiz ui

I absolutely LOVE my Captivate Galaxy S!!! I had an iphone 4 for 2 days, took it back, and got the Samsung Captivate. And I love it!!! The only thing I don't like is I cannot set a personal ringtone for messages. Or if I can, I haven't figured it out yet. But I still wouldn't trade it for anything other than the Samsung Infuse!!!!!! (I really want that phone!!!!)

there are a few great things about this phone...

but there are also quite a few bad things about this phone. I like the light portability of the device and the crisp amoled picture samsung provides. however, the software issues that i keep having are inconvenient and rather upsetting. the phone freezes a lot and numerous programs don't run properly on the phone. when it's time for me to upgrade, i will not be getting another android phone! samsung is great, but until the android platform changes, i won't be purchasing another for a while!

Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
