All the features I needed

First droid phone I've owned. Previous phones were Blackberrys. The Captivate has more (useful) features and is much faster. Good memory limits, expandable. Wife fell in love with mine and replaced her Blackberry with Captivate.
Pros: Bright display, thin durable
Cons: battery hog!
I would recommend this to a friend!

A pretty awesome phone

I didn't want a touch screen phone, my husband has one and I didnt like it, my sister used to have a different one and I didnt care for it either. Then my sister got this phone, and after messing with it for one day, I bought it. I love this phone!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

Great phone. The screen is amazing. The GPS is slow to lock and tends to be off.

The one bad experience out of a hundred

Two of the buttons on my Samsung Captivate stopped working right after the first month (back & search), then the LCD cracked three months later, just above those two buttons; for no discernable reason, no excessive force/pressure was used on the screen, there were no bangs, no bumps, no anything.... The LCD just spontaneously cracked, while not even in use... lucky me... Whats worse, is the rest of the phone is in mint condition, the glass isn't even scratched, there is just a broken LCD beneath that perfect glass...
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This phone is everything I expected it to be and more. It rarely (if ever) lags, and only has a problem with freezing or forceclosing when it's app related. Has beautiful bright vibrant colors. I knew the phone had a good screen, but I didn't know it would make all of my iphone4 carrying friends quite so jealous. The touch response is unbelievably accurate; it rarely selects something I wasn't intending to click (and that's only when the links are so small you can barely read them). The browser is ridiculously fast for a phone. But I have to say my favorite thing about the phone has to be Swype Texting!!! I will never use classic text again! Overall: Brilliant! Great job Samsung!

Cons: slow startup

Phone has funky problems

This phone works well for most functions. It fails when all of a sudden it powers down for no reason during a phone call. It also randomly decided to ignore the external SD memory card and you have to jump through hoops to get it to recognize it again.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
