Speaker tends to come loose from where its attached and u have to push on it LIGHTLY to get it to work and then its fine for a while. DESIGN FLAW NEEDS FIX.
LOVE this phone! The LED screen is bright and big. The only downside is that if you use it constantly for more than 20 minutes or so, it gets very hot. (similar to the heat from older laptops).
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, large text/numbers
Cons: gets hot with constant use
I would recommend this to a friend!

I liked this phone so well that I needed a second line for work and I purchased another. Wish I could get the Media Hub to work though!
This Samsung Captivate is by far the best Android Phone i have used. The Features and Design are flawless in my opinion. I would recommend the Samsung Captivate to anyone wanting an Android based phone.
I have a Custom ROM it an I have changed it a number of times, If I had one complaint about the phone it would be that It is way to hard to put it in download mode. Holding the up and down Vol and plugging the USB port in Does not work. other than that this is a Great phone.
The phone shuts it self off way to offten. The keyboard doesnt always come up rightt away. I text on the keyboard an the words wont appear. Positives its light weight, not to bulky, screens pretty large.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, internet is quick
Cons: Did not meet expectations, shuts off too much on own, lags when texting, takes forever to load up, keyboard freezes, confusing to connect to computer
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the phone, however the only problems I have are software related. Other than the Wi-Fi detector killing the battery when you're not close to a Wi-Fi source, I can't say too much negative about this product. There are smarter ways to program that feature so maybe Samsung will fix this problem.
I didn't get my Captivate until close to Christmas, but a co-worker had one VERY early in the year. Android 2.2 has been out long enough that it should have been available for the Captivate LONG before I even bought my phone... BUT like I said, I love the phone otherwise. It's nice to see that a company is kind of making a product that is a value to a customer instead of intentionally designing it so you'll have to get a new one sooner... I've stopped buying products like that and so have my friends and family. Glad this product seems to meet quality standards SO far... Could be better, but it's MUCH better than most all the competition.,
Cons: Did not meet expectations, software limitations before upgrade, took about a year before android 2.2 was available, the wi-fi detector needs to be smarter. kills batt
