Great pocket PC, terrible phone though. The reception is the worst. I can not blame ATT. I have a Blackberry and my wife has a Samsung Flight all 3 on ATT and the Captivate is the only phone with bad reception. I like the other functions. But, look at the bright side, I dont have to worry about exceeding my text and data plan, since I dont any reception,
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: porr reception
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

although i just had to have a phone replaced because it was shorting out chargers the phone is exactly what i expected. i thought i wouldn't be able to handle the touch screen but within a week i was texting faster than before. i love the app options and haven't had any of the os problems people are complaining about. crossing my fingers the update comes out soon....it has been too long and i understand how upset people are because it's been a long time promised. call quality is amazing and i haven't had a dropped call yet. camera takes great pics and i haven't needed a flash the way i thought the lack there of would cripple this phone. would be nice if the take pic button was the volume button though....sometimes it's hard to hit the camera button and you don't know if it has worked or not. i wish it had touch feedback like other aps.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, fast, easy to use
Cons: Too big, lags when you get a message
I would recommend this to a friend!

6 months old replaced twice waiting on third replacement. First one locked up completely, 2nd keeps shutting down through the day. And had to wait 5 months for the media hub to work through AT&T.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

This is my first smartphone and it is wonderful. My last texting phone was a Samsung, and it was great too!

over all a good phone. However, if you browse through your apps for a long time play some games it hangs some times and cannot be detected from a USB cable.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
Cons: hangs a lot if use it for long time

I love my Phone its easy to use the battery however dies to fast for all you can do with it
