it's a pretty quick phone. the quality of the screen is amazing. the camera is really nice too. and the swype texting is very useful. definitely a phone worth buying.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

After using the phone for almost a month I'm writing this review.
Overall, this is a great phone! I was sick of using an iPhone for almost 2 years and I wanted something fresh. Captivate was a nice change with super fast processor, amazing display and snappy Andriod UI.
To begin with, I have few complaints on this phone,
1. Doesn't have a flash for the camera, which is a major drawback.
2. Samsung is taking forever to release Froyo 2.2, preventing me from having flash on my phone.
3. Softkeys on the bottom of the screen are always a hit-and-miss.
4. In-built mail application does not work properly, for some reason. Even after deleting mails from my hotmail, they come back as unread after I refresh the mail app.
5. Music player requires more tuning. Coming from iTunes and iPhone, I see the need for better integration. You cannot rate your songs and make a playlist out of it.
2. Samsung is taking forever to release Froyo 2.2, preventing me from having flash on my phone.

Coming to the features I like the most,
1. Awesome screen, period!!!
2. Skype keyboard is awesome.
3. In-built GPS is a bonus.
4. Camera is excellent during daytime.
5. Nice speaker on the phone.
6. Phone to TV-out is an excellent feature. I use this all the time to watch youtube and recorded videos from my phone directly on the TV.
7. Light-weight. Yeah, I feel it is light than iPhone 4.
8. Nice selection of apps from the Andriod Market place, but the apps need more refinement as on iTunes Store. There are plenty of apps that needs to be filtered, at least regionally (US customers don't need Japanese or Chinese apps).

B4 I start, there is NO other phone in the world that I would rather have!!! The one and only problem that I have with this phone is the battery life. If you don't mess with a lot of applications and you turn your live wallpaper off and put a regular still picture or wallpaper on and leave it in standby or use it as a regular phone to talk on, then the battery will last for 2-4 days without having to charge once or twice a day! Which really that is expected from ANY phone, especially with the use of all the features that this one has! Otherwise it is a fantastic phone,best phone that I have had yet!!! About the only thing that this phone won't do is bring me a beer! Which I have trained my dog to do that! LOL... The volume level should adjust a little bit higher for certain apps like notifications, alarm clock and music "but there's an app for that" just like the commercial says ;). But other than that I am VERY PLEASED with getting this phone!!! ;)
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, fast charging time, hd quality "2 thumbs up"
Cons: sound volume too low, battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Greatest phone I've ever owned. It blows the i-phone away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not a high tech guy, but this phone has everything I could have imagined and then some

Not very good for business use

I am disappoointed that this phone does not support voice dialing through the bluetooth headset. I am also unable to get the syncing program (KIES) to reliably sync my calendar on the phone with my company OUTLOOK calendar. This phone seems to be more suited for social networking, not business use.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, not business oriented
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Smart Phone!

I have been waiting to get a another smart phone for some time now. Im glad this is an Android phone andpart of the Galaxy S phone family. Nice look and feel and features are great. Can't go wrong with a phone like this versus lot of others out there.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: no front facing camera

I have had this phone for about 2 weeks and absolutely love it! The swype text entry is the best! Battery does need to be charged every night, but no big deal. I did purchase a car charger in the event of emergency but other than that all has been good. In the process now of reading 208 page manual which will probably clear up any remaining questions I have about operating this phone to it's fullest potential. Love the Android technology and all the apps available on this phone! This is my 3rd Samsung phone and love the quality. Will continue to buy Samsung phones!
