Amazing phone!

This is an amazing phone! I love all features, the Super amoled screen is beautiful and it's light and compact. I think its nicer to look at than an iPhone. I would have given it 5 stars if it had come with, or had Froyo (2.2 Android update) on it! 2.1 android has too many problems, froyo is very much needed. As soon as I get that update this will be a 5 star phone!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: no 2.2 android update
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone, but quirky

I love the features of this phone and it works well, when it works. It has a tendency to shut itself off for no apparent reason. When it has done this the battery was fully charged, but when I pulled the phone out to use it, it was off. It has also shut off in my hand with no input from me. This is a very irritating problem. I also have no clue how to use the firmware update feature. I plug the phone into my computer and select Kies firmware update and absolutely nothing happens.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: shuts off on its own
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but Quirky

I am having one main issue with my captivate. It randomly shuts itself off. That is a major issue for me as well as a ton of others who are experiencing this very same issue. Check into it before jumping on one. I have heard that they are figuring out the issue and are resolving it so we will see.

Great hardware, poor software

The hardware on this phone is excellent but the software is out of date and Samsung continues to promise an upgrade to Froyo but never delivers. The GPS is also broken for most users and no real fix for that has been released either. Overall, its a decent phone but all things considered, I would gladly trade mine for a different brand phone. Contracts are 2 years long and waiting the majority of that time to fix issues and release updates is not good enough.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor software, gps does not work, filesystem lags
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Old Android version is crippling the device

Why is it stuck at 2.1? I can't get languages supported on it! It ruins my experience...
The hardware is capable- but who cares if the OS is cripple?!
