Great except GPS

The GPS is HORRIBLE. My IPHONE gave better directions. When I try to use it to drive, it ALWAYS puts me a few streets of the road I am travelling

Fastest phone going. Fact that you can copy back and forth any file to the SD Card an internal 16 Gig hard drive is such a plus. I need Word, Excel, PDF files as well as Photos, Music and Video. I have 48 Gig of HD Space as setup. and I have 3 batteries and extra Micro SD cards. The flexability BLOWS away the iPhone 4. This has the exact Processor as the i4 has.
The Screen tint is a little Blue, but that's nothing. Main 4 buttoms don't always engage right away, is a problem. Assigning ring tones is a little bit tricky, but at least you can make them, unlike an iPhone. The android architecture is so much better than apples OS, it doesn't compare. It Is completely compatible with Windows and Mac, and when plugged in, appears as two drives.
For anyone who wants to get a bad that a bone PDA, there is no better than these Droids. This is an iPhone killer. I can't see me going back to iPhone again. You don't need interface to copy files back and forth… Just the operating system is enough. So glad to not have to use iTunes. However recommend this to anyone who uses a PDA in a environment, as they're available in all the different carriers, with a slightly different name. But they all our Galaxy's.

I finally made the jump to a smart phone and am glad that I waited for the Captivate to become available. Nice sensitive touch screen, quick responsiveness and still great call quality. All in all you can't go wrong with this phone!

This is my first phone of this type, so I can't compare with IPhone or any of the others, but I don't want to. I love this phone. It is very user friendly. Even though I've never used this type of phone, I feel completely comfortable using it and I recommend it to all my family and friends.

last phone LG Shine nice phone but nothing in comparison to this phone - never had an Android before so overwhelming is what it is. All regular features sound is good i know my Plantronics headset (bluetooth) is much clearer at both ends. I really like being able to turn the phone horizontal and having larger keys, also the text to speech but you have to be clear in speaking or you will have some funny words on the screen. But all in all this is a really great phone.

Great First Smart Phone

This is my first smart phone. The captivate has very good performance, a great screen, and lots of memory. Call quality is very good. I really like watching videos or reading books on my phone when I wait in line. The one downside is how fast the battery loses its charge.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, plenty of memory
Cons: short battery duration, no led flash

All "but " fantastic ! and it would be all that if it came with a complete user/owners manual. Perhaps on sd card. A download isn't of assistance when your on the road,not to mention Adobe flash and reader not available for 2.r as of this date.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: no usable detailed manual
