Power off issue

Phone randomly powers off when sitting idle in stand-by mode. Not reliable. Otherwise a great phone, but this is a major flaw.

One of the best phones available. Highly customizable, vivid colors thanks to AMOLED screen, and surprisingly lighweight for it's size.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Its faster, stronger, longer, meaner! The app market is awesome and this thing is so easy to use. I can change apps, save photos, download music, movies all with out being tied to It*ne$. Definitely not regretting losing the Iphone for a much easier and faster phone and operating system!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

I have had the phone for about a month now. I am very impressed with it. I have not had any problem with battery life and have found it very easy to use. The only negative thing I would have to say (and it is VERY minor), I would like to be able to remove the apps that I know I won't use. Right now, that option does not exist. I would highly recommend this smart phone to anyone interested in an IPhone. With the exception of not having a flash on the camera, it does everything the IPhone does and at considerable less cost, plus has some features not available in the IPhone.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Almost perfect if it weren't lacking support

The Samsung Captivate is an incredibly powerful phone with some great features, but it doesn't quite live up to my expectations.
The processor is more than powerful enough to run anything you throw at it, and the screen is gorgeous. However, it gets very warm, some parts seem cheaply made, the battery rarely lasts a full day, and there is no forward-facing camera for video chatting.
The greatest let-down that makes me wish I hadn't bought this phone is the lack of support: Android OS 2.3 has been released, but an upgrade to 2.2 has yet to be pushed for this phone (which means I still can't run Flash, working with certain e-mail clients is embarrassingly poor, and more). Samsung brags about apps and accessories such as Media Hub and a car-dock that still aren't available for this phone.
Overall, this is an impressive phone that doesn't get the respect and support it deserves from the company that made it.
