This product has great features

I owned several phones that served my needs well, until I purchased the Samsung Captivate. The quality exceeds my expectations and operation is quite simple. I am still learning the many OS procedures (my first on an Android based program) and am having fun with it. My family have BB, iPhones, HTC but I genuinely feel this phone surpasses them all in several aspects. Even with an app killer program installed, the down side, the battery life could be extended.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great responsive and colorful screen, durable as well. The phone rarely freezes, but the gps stinks. I bought this phone mainly for Android and if you're gonna do android you better do the updates too. However we're still on 2.1. The video camera is great too btw.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no froyo 2.2

Too much AT&T bloatware

Phones are becoming like laptops or desktops. You have choices for operating systems and now they come with bloatware pre-installed. I wish Samsung would offer an option to flash an image without the bloatware or a way to remove it without following community how-tos.
Pros: high performance
Cons: bundled apps

CAPTIVATE, should have been "captivating" because IT IS !

Samsung really GOT IT with this one !! As a former iphone user for 2 years, the CAPTIVATE BLOWS THE iphone AWAY !! COMPLETELY. It does everyting the iphone does and then some ! Only thing is ...... FASTER ,with BETTER graphics, sound, CALL QUALITY [NO special case required]
THE FOLLOWING IS A TRUE STORY: [witnessed by my wife AND myself] Someone we both know was leaving on a Christmas trip, he [name witheld] lives on the second story. Stepping out the door for the trip, he pulls out his phone [a CAPTIVATE] and drops it on the second story concrete landing, we ALL watch it as it bounces all the way to the ground floor, striking every other [concrete] step, like a square slinky until it hit the ground floor landing. [also concrete] No one could move, finally my wife went to retrieve the phone we ALL knew was totalled.... THE ONLY THINGWRONG WITH IT WAS SEVERELY "SANDED DOWN " CORNERS ! He still is using it [flawlessly operational, not even cracked screne] today.

Great phone in function and design. The Galaxy S platform is definitely better than my iphone. But the only way to continue excelling is to support your product with regular updates. This means Froyo updates and Gingerbread updates...at this point, skip 2.2 and go straight to 2.3. I will continue to recommend the droid X for this reason however the Captivate is a more pleasing design and better screen.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight, design
Cons: no froyo update, needs 4.3 " screen

I love this phone

I just bought this phone and had it only for a couple of days, but I recently bought this and my old phone was an Iphone, and I have to say I love this phone over my old iphone. Its so fast, and has so many different options available right from the start. I LOVE IT!! The colors are amazing, and downloading is super fast as well. I am totally satisfied, and I am an indipendent business owner, so far it is doing great with that as well.
