This is way better then the iphone, other then it could use a better battery this phone is great.....
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

I love the phone, but the GPS is terrrible. If I am indoors, I get NO GPS. I have to go and stand outside. My son, wife, daughter, and I (work phone) have other manufacturers phones, and they ALL work indoors just fine. Also, the "back" button is way too sensitive. I have to hit it just right in the exact place to get it to work.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: gps

Good but not great

it works ok but some of the apps that are supplied crash several times a week and so do some of the apps I have downloaded. The product needs some usablility testing by people who want to reduce key strokes. Others in my IT department have other brands that work better.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, apps crash, battery won't last all day, at&t support

Smart Phone?

The Captivate is by far, the worst phone when it comes to ease of use. It is not user friendly at all. It is totally frustrating and the tutorials are nearly worthless. Want to search for a feature like 'copy gallery to memory card', or to pc. forget it.
This phone has no reception on at&t, drops calls. Worst of all, when it has a full charge, it shuts itself off, repeatedly for hours.

Great phone, rarely have any issues with it, its like a pocket PC... Only issue is the loud speaker on it cuts off and on through out use.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: loud speaker doesnt work

Replacing an iPhone 4

I have had every iPhone that has come out and have looked to replace for 3 years and tried several phones including the new Samsung Focus...non like the captive, I love this phone. I would put it against the iPhone 4 anyday of the week!
Pros: Bright display, easy to use
Cons: not enough advertising this phone
