I love love love this phone!!!!

I love this phone!! Everything about it, with the exception of 2 things, I wish I could have custom text tones for different contacts and I wish I could change the vibration pattern for when my phone rings or receives a text. The size is perfect, the screen is perfect, voice quality is perfect!!! I think you should certainly get this phone!!! Oh and I love that it records videos in HD!!!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: no custom text ring for different contacts

Would be better if the GPS worked when it should. Don't get me wrong, when it works it works. Other times it could take forever to get a fix. There have benn a few fixes. JH7 jelped. The newest GPSRestorer fix released Nov 30 by Samsung works if it can get a fix on the satelites. I just press retry when it is done until it works. For instance today in an open parking lot and not a cloud in the sky it said "Try again from a clearing" or similiar. Oh well. Other than that it is great.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: gps could be better, stock email app has a lot to be desired, longer battery life would be great. i get about 6, hours if i am lucky

The only problems i have had is the Choppy-ness of switching the homescreens which isn't always a problem at all. Also, i wish the camera had an LED flash. Besides that, the phone is incredible!
Another thing. NO FROYO yet. :-/

This phone has totally exceeded my expectations!, its truly a wonderfull device, totally beats the iPhone, I personally think. and the Andriod OS Makes this the coolest device out there.

I use to have the Samsung Impression and this Captivate is much better

After having several other smart phones, I purchased the Samsung Captivate. This phone really beats the competition. Samsung has produced an excellent phone in the Galaxy S series. The only con is that apps continue to open on their own and I have to continually have to kill the app to prolong the battery life.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, fast processor
Cons: apps open on their own
